Raindrops on Roses . . .

These are a few of my favourite things  . . .

Sunshowers . . .  they are like magic.  The sun is shining brilliantly and yet the rain falls.  I can remember ducking under neat the overhang of a garage room once when I was a child.  The sun was blaring, but if I held my arm out just beyond the overhang, my hand was filled with drops of rain falling.   Wonderfully mysterious, almost supernatural.  Magical.

Drops of rain falling on water  . . .  in puddles, in lakes, in rivers and streams etc.  Mesmerizing.  I could watch the patterns it makes for hours . . . .

The flicker of flames in a log fire  . . .  as they arch and lick across the wood they consume . . .  the snap and the crackle . . . the warmth of the glow . . . the smell of burning logs  . . . equally as mesmerizing.   When I was married before we had a log stove in the living room.  I could lay on the sofa for hours watching the logs burning through the glass window.

When I get to heaven I am having a log fire.

Old barns and sunflowers  . . . individually and together . . .

Lily of the Valley . . .  even if I have never been able to get it to grow in my own garden  . . .

Dining Al Fresco with friends  . . .  bees buzzing . . .  birds singing . . . glasses clinking  . . . sparkling conversation . . . good food . . . the sun setting . . .

Early morning solitude . . .  that's me time . . .  prayer time  . . .  think time  . . .  write time . . .  just me and Mitzie time  . . .

Hearts . . .

The Outlander series  . . .  one and two . . . I have a thing for men in kilts  . . .  and Scottish Lairds . . . romance in the highlands  . . .  Scotland.  I want to go there.

Your laugh for the day  . . .

A thought to carry with you  . . .

"When difficult things occur in our lives,
what is our immediate response?
Is it confusion or doubt or spiritual withdrawal?
Is it a blow to our faith?
Do we blame God or others for our circumstances?
Or is our first response to remember who we are
. . . that we are children of a loving God?"

  1. Good morning Marie. It has taken me so many attempts to make it here today. Thank you for the sauce idea. Beth is now vegan and last night she came to dinner and all she had was vegetables. We had plenty but there was no sauce for her. I need some new tricks up my sleeve. I didn't know she was coming for dinner and was caught out.

God bless your day with lots of love and happiness.

  2. I do have lily of the valley growing along side the house. It is wonderful and the smell is heavenly. And I do love a wood fire. I enjoyed many summer evenings in days past sitting around a campfire with family and friends and roasting marshmallows ! A little bit of heaven for sure. So many nice things to enjoy in this world that don't cost much and still provide hours of pleasure.

  3. WE have a friend whose grandson and his wife are vegan Suzan! They are a pain in the butt! Always telling people they shouldn't eat meat or eggs, etc. They think that if we just stopped eating and breeding meat and let those animals die out, then we could use the grain which is grown to feed them to the starving peoples of the world. But what about the farmers, workers etc. whose livlihood depends on that? What about the extinction of those species? What about corrupt Governments which lay at the root of a lot of this starvation now? Will they no longer be corrupt? So naieve! God bless your day today! Love and hugs. xoxo

Oh, I bet it smells heavenly Pam! I love roasting hotdogs and marshmallows over a fire. It's bliss! xoxo

    You too Monique! xoxo

Your comments mean the world to me, and while I may not be able to address each one individually, each one is important to me and each one counts. Thanks so much!
