The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY, May 26th, 2015

Outside my window ...
It's very overcast.  I think It's going to rain. We must take the rain as well as the sunshine.  The rain is why we are such a beautiful lush country!

I am thinking ...
I did not have a very good experience yesterday at the shop where I had bought my camera.  The clerk who served me was very snooty.  It was like she was looking down at me the whole time, and her attitude was very confrontational.   She refused to go outside and take a photograph so that she could see what I was talking about.  She kept telling me that I must be the problem.   Then she tried to tell me that their policy was to never exchange any product which cost over £100.  I said that's odd because we bought a printer from you last year and brought it back a couple of months later and exchanged it for a new one and it was well over £100.   She said that it must have been on a product recall.  I said no, it was because the printer did not work properly.   I told her to look it up.  She did and then said we had bought too many printers there.  I said, check the last two.  (I felt like saying that it was because they were all crap, but didn't.)  The upshot of it is, the camera is still under manufacturer's warantee and they are sending it back for repair.   The bad news is I am without a decent camera until it comes back.  Colour me not happy with the situation.  My camera cost over £200 and I expected better service than what I got.  She was rude and condescending.

I am thankful for ...
Todd.  In the end I let him deal with it because I was too angry to be polite.  Todd says I have a bad temper when I don't get my own way.  Maybe so.   But, she was rude.

In the kitchen ...

Parmesan Chicken Breasts with Crispy Proscuitto.   Quick and delicious!

Then I did this one.  The bluebird isn't as cute as I would like it to be, but overall I liked the concept.

Free Vintage Blue Bird Clip Art.   From Pretty Things For You.  I love this page.  A lot of what you see on this page came from there.

How to make a Boxwood Wreath from Daisy Mae Belle.   Sweet.

More fun than water balloons.  And they last.   Sponge Bombs from Inner Child Fun.

Leaf Art.   Leaves mod podged to a balloon.  Pop the balloon and you are left with art.

I am reading ...

Yes.  Every time I read it, I come away with some new gem to apply.

Still on this as well.  It's really good and getting better with each read.   It's a good thing I read on a kindle or I would have skipped to the end to find out what happens.  Yes, I am naughty that way.

I am hoping ...
That they can fix my camera and that it won't take too long.

Makes me smile ...

I am learning  ...
That just when I think I have cracked patience . . .  I take two steps back., and must begin again.

I am pondering ...
Wondering how the show in NYC went.   They say no news is good news.   I am hoping this is so.

  1. I am so cross that you had such a bad assistant when you took the camera back. You should have insisted in speaking to the manager..although they never want you to !...I can see why you got so cross. But I also know how my pal Pam gets when she dosn't think she is getting the right answers so I am glad that Todd intervened !! Pam get's so angery that she always ends up in tears with frustration, I have seen it so often with her ..... Anyway it is the shop and not the manufacturer that is responible and the camaera should have been replaced as it was not " fit for purpose" that is the expression I was so thinking for you to ue yesterday and it has just come to me now. It is what we ued to tell people at the CAB...You should name and shame the shop on facebook that often makes them sit up they don't like bad publicity...hope you don't have to wait long for it to come back.....Thank you for all the other lovely things for me to check out this morning.. I just love love love that photo of the wee boys holdig hands so precious . Hope that the sun comes out for you It was shininng brightly here 1/2 hr ago but has clouded over again...

  2. The policy from whoever they are is so very bad. I am sorry you had such a difficult time.

  3. Those are my grandsons Sybil! They are so cute and I just love this photo of them. I added the words. I had to walk away yesterday or I would have been in tears. Tears of frustration mostly. She more or less was telling me I was a liar about them exchanging a faulty printer with a new one. I did write her name down and I may yet contact head office. Today doesn't know what it wnts to do here. Sun one moment, rain the next! xoxo

The thing is Suzan, I know that's not their policy, as I had exchanged a faulty printer just a few months prior. She was just being a pain in the butt! xoxo

  4. I hate situations like that!
Todd..too funny what he said..because I saw me too.
I am always nice ..lol..to everyone in stores..
But if situations turn out contrary to what I was told..not happy..the situation you describe would see me become defensive..and like a little bull dog..I would not let go.
Hope the camera comes back great.
    Silly her.
    Poor customer service.
    Cute boys Marie!
    Don't we love them so..
    Clic..clic..clic..soon!

  5. It looks like a rainy day here too but we are on the dry side and everything could use a good watering so I'm hoping it does rain. Hope you get your camera back soon. I think I would go to a different shop next time to purchase something. Apparently they don't need your business since they are so rude. That is what I do when someone upsets me. I take my business elsewhere to those that do appreciate it.

  6. You are so right Monique! As soon as she started being rude and smirking at me my hackles rose and I was on the defensive, like a pit bull! I told my sister the "mom" in me came out! My mother never lets anyone get away with anything! I hate feeling that way. I hate confrontation of any kind!m I love my boys and fell in love with this sweet photo of them. I am going to print and frame it I think! Xoxo

I complained to head office today Pam, and they were most apologetic Pam! Here's hoping someone has an attitude adjustment! Xoxo

  7. Good for you for complaining to the head office.

I hope you hear soon about your artwork licensing. Those kinds of waits are so hard. I go through it with submissions for writing contests. Good luck! ♥
