My Friday Finds . . .

 photo FridayFinds_zpsb214ccd8.jpg

A few of the things I find each week which strike my fancy and I hope that they strike yours also!

2014-09-08-wa2.jpg

A "Waffled" Bacon Jalapeno Grilled Cheese Sandwich, made of tater tots. Found on the Huffington Post.  It looks so tasty, but is probably sooooooo bad.  Look at that bacon.

2014-09-08-wa1.jpg

What kind of mind thinks of these types o things to eat.   Wowsa.   There are probably a week's worth of calories in one sandwich, but I'd sure love to taste it!

I love this cute paper heart.  It would be a great way to use up scraps.  I think I love it so much because of the polka dot paper.  I love polka dots.  From mom of five daughters.

How to Finger Knit.  Interesting.  From Housing a Forest.   This would be great to do with kids.

Patchwork Valentine Mug Mats.  A great way to use up scraps.  So cute!  From Amy Made That. Cute!

Free printable Coffee Cup Wraps designed by Lia Griffith from Skip to My Lou. Sweet!

I just adore this heart shaped pot holder.  From A Spoonful of Sugar Designs.   I have a bunch of heart shaped pot holders now, but they are getting old and blah looking.  Time to make some new ones methinks.  They are not just for valentines day.  I love the shape of these pot holders, as it is perfect for picking up almost anything hot.  I much prefer it over an oven glove.   Simple and straightforward to make.

If you do Valentine Treats for the Grands, just look at these cute lil pigs!  I love them!  They are made from toilet paper roll inserts.  Now I wish I had been saving mine.  Sigh   . . . simple.  From Creative Me Inspired You.

Accckk!  So cute!  Toilet Paper Roll Mice.   How utterly adorable. From Child Made.

DIY Origami Gift Boxes.  I have made these before.  They are so simple to do and make such cute boxes, and you can personalize them for any occasion.  From Gathering Beauty.   A complete tutorial.

DIY fun Paper Spinners.  From Makes and Takes.  Fun for the kiddies.   I remember my mom making us spinners similar to these, or maybe it was my dad . . .  using buttons.  They kept us amused for hours and hours when I was small.  My dad also made us knitting spools.

I found it!  A pictorial tutorial on how to do just this!  Here is the Link.   All I have to do now is find the beads and a whole passle of time, lol.  I do love this though.  I really do.

An abundance of free colouring pages for Adults, from Mum in the Mad House.   I love colouring.  That's all my art is really . . .  I just draw stuff and colour it in.  Simple.

And that's my finds for this week.  I hope that you enjoyed seeing them and perhaps even found something which you might like to do yourself!

We are off to the dog groomers this  morning.  It's hard to believe that it has already been ten weeks since the last time.  It sure comes around fast!  It's very windy and wet out there today.  Take care when you are out and about!

A thought to carry with you through today . . .

  1. Good morning Marie,

We are under a severe weather warning. Thankfully it has come here but sadly is all around us. It has been so humid today. The air conditioner is set on 26 degrees Centigrade and the outside of the windows are wet from condensation. I have been trying to teach myself to knit the argyle pattern. I am confused and very frustrated. I have to learn though as I have bought myself the wool and pattern to make the Tracery vest.https://www.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jSCCtIFJlPo/VNfYIGJtS7I/AAAAAAAAM4g/H-Ts6oME3sM/s1600/vest.png&imgrefurl=http://carolinaknits.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html&h=707&w=708&tbnid=Jx2SvOKc8pSkqM:&docid=XscEqFK1DgMH2M&itg=1&ei=YvyqVojKMueijgTV6pawBA&tbm=isch&ved=0ahUKEwiIg-zMqM7KAhVnkYMKHVW1BUYQMwgfKAMwAw

I cannot waste all that sock wool. I am also hope to watch the cricket tonight.

God bless you and grant you a wonderful day.

  2. Morning Marie as you say it's a wild one. I have to go to collect my new wheelchair this morning so will have to take extra care...I do love Fridays shares....I say that every week !! You are so clever finding such interesting things...such clever folks out there...I have some good colouring pencils and a wee book of pages to colour. I've done the odd one but never seem to have much time on my own to do much ! I had hoped that Mary would show interest then I wouldn't feel guilty doing it whilst she just sits looking on...hope Mitzie gets on ok today she will come back looking so smart..although I expect like Masy she dosnt appreciate it !!.....take care. And thank you again for these brilliant ideas xxx

  3. Hope all will be okay Suzan! I, myself, would never attempt anything so complicated. I just wouldn't enjoy it. I am rather lazy it seems! Hope your day will be blessed in many small and special ways. Look for them! xoxo

I am hoping the wind will dry things up a bit Sybil! No rain here, for now at least! Good luck with picking up your new wheel chair! Drive safe! What a shame Mary doesn't like to colour. Maybe you could think of something else she could do while you are colouring? For sure Mitzie gets stressed with the grooming, but it is a necessity! xoxo

  8. Hi Marie!

What a fun post, I love all your ideas, I just wish I had time to make all of them. I have been looking for some boxes that are unique and different, the origami boxes are perfect!

I'm so glad you found the link to make the beaded window shade. It really is so pretty. I can just imagine it with the sun shining through the beads. Good luck with it!

It sounds like you had a fun night with the girls. You have given me some great ideas for an activity!

Have a wonderful week-end! Stay warm!

    Hugs,
    Barb

  9. You are amazing at finding cute ideas. I love to look at them and sometimes I have used some of the ones for grand kids. I remember the paper spinners; so I will check that one out for sure. I also loved the lil pigs one. They would be great for the families with little children that we visit.
I am going to look at the free coloring pages for adults. They use this for therapy for anxiety; interesting. I could use some therapy sometimes.
Well dear friend; I so enjoy your posts and wish I could get in on this everyday. Have a blessed weekend doing your missionary endeavors. Love and hugs for you two!

  10. Thanks Barb! I will have to wait until the end of my mission to make any beaded curtains. Time is not that spare nowadays! I was excited to find out how to do it however! I did have a fun night with the girls, and more importantly so did they! It's cold and wet today, after a windy dry day yesterday. That's England! xoxo

LeAnn, I often colour in the evening when Todd is watching the telly. I find it very relaxing and enjoyable. You have a blessed weekend also! Love and hugs to you and Roger. I hope he had a lovely Birthday ! xoxo
