And that's it for this week. I hope you found something useful there!
A friend of mine is in the process at the moment of adopting a little Chinese Girl. She wanted me to do a picture for her to hang in her new daughter's bedroom which would convey how very much they wanted her. This is what I came up with. It took me several days to do from the initial sketch to the finished painting. She is very happy with it. I love doing commission work when my vision actually matches the vision of the person I am doing it for. Because I do everything by hand, even the lettering, it can be a bit of a pain when they want something changed. That usually means having to completely redo everything from the start. I wish I knew an easier way of doing it, but I'm a dinosaur. The only way I know how to do these things is by hand and by scratch. Nothing digital here!
This is my first piece of the year!
A thought to carry with you through today . . .
Catch a fire with enthusiasm
and people will come for miles
to watch you burn.
Cooking in The English Kitchen today . . . Hot Ham and Cheese Rolls. Delicious!
Have a fabulous Friday. Wherever you go, whatever you do, don't forget!
