A few of the things I find each week which strike my fancy and I hope that they strike yours also!

How CUTE are these chicken footstools!  I love them!  From The City Farm Girl.  (They're not cheap.  I'd have to win the lottery first, lol)

Homemade Gum Drops.   From Hoosier Homemade.  What fun!

A Tutorial on how to make a Papier Mache Doll.  From Juna Art.  A lot of work, in another language, but great photos.

I love this cute little crochet purse.  You can find all the directions, ready to download, here at Wonderful DIY.

20 Uses for Baking Soda.  I wish you could buy it in big bags or even boxes over here.  You can't.  I use it for a lot of things.  These tips come from Surviving the Stores. Saving Money, Healthy Living.

How to make paper look vintage.  From Cottage In The Oaks.

This is brillliant.  Easy no sew Fleece Blanket.  All you need is 1 1/2 yards of two co-ordinating fleece fabrics.  From Sewlicious Home Decor.

DIY Conversation Starter Napkins.   Easy to make and fun!  A great way to get any dinner party off to a good start with great flowing conversation.  From Stone Gable.

How to make a fun Flower Fabric Brooch.  From Molly Makes.

and finally  . . .

Make your own DIY Polymer Clay Buttons.  Aren't they cute!  From Artistic Life.   These are easy, easy!

And that's my finds for this week.  I hope you found something useful here!

A thought to carry with you through today  . . .

  1. When I saw the how-to-make-linens-look-vintage photo, I thought "Scrabble Soup!" Then my eyes adjusted and my brain kicked in. :)

There has to be an inexpensive way to re-create those chicken footstools. I'd think if you could sew fabric or canvas into the basic chicken-shape, then just fill it with (bagged-in-case-it-would-break-through-the-fabric-eventually) sand. . . ? I guess my hens would be at-rest since I'd skip the legs to make this easier, but truly, it would be worth trying. Yessssssss, let me know how that goes. ;)

'Hope you have a good day, Marie. :)

  3. Hi, Marie! Happy Friday! ;) LOVE that little crochet purse! I have a little niece who might like one of those... Fun with the vintage paper. I've been using very strong coffee dye-baths for paper, lace & fabric bits--works a charm! Those conversation napkins are a great idea--especially for mixed gatherings where maybe not all the guest know each other well. Making clay buttons is fun--love those! Do I dare show hubs that beef bbq over at your foodies place--he would love. ;) Thank you for your sweet visit to my place earlier this week! Happy weekend to you all there, my friend ((LOVE & BIG HUGS))

  4. Oh Marie you have some beautiful things here today. Where does one begin?

I have to thank you for the gumdrop recipe. We used to make one very similar to that and over time the recipe has been lost. One of my friends now makes gum drops with heaps of gelatine. Her doctor told her it may help her ageing joints.

God bless your day and have some fun.

  5. As always some great finds....like the idea of that flower brooch...and the napkins I think it quite sad though that very few people seem to use napkins now. I always have and when I visit I find it really odd/ difficult without a napkin.....I am about to,start another two hangings but our new neighbour has given me some great ideas on how to do things easier and even better offered to help...yippee...she is extreemly artistic, teaches art..painting, anything art really...so a great friend to find.....been a wet morning but now the sun is out and it's a nice afternoon......hope you are having a good day. Xx

  6. Ohh Val, daffodil and Rose shaped footstools. You have my wheels turning! You're a treasure! xoxo

The only problem with that pie if there is only two of you Tracy is that it makes a lot for two. I am going to try freezing the leftovers to see how that goes! Love and huggles! xoxo

God bless your day also Suzan! I hope you give the gumdrops a go! xoxo

    Thanks Monique! xoxo

I would love to see your wall hangings Sybil! I bet they are fabulous. Yay to having a friend to help out! xoxo
