Things that make me go awww...

"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched,
they must be felt by the heart."
~Helen Keller

A few of the things which touch my heart.   These can be seen or I couldn't show them to you, but I think they will make you go awww . . .  too.

This adorable felted bunny from LoveLingZ on Etsy.  It's so cute.   I know it would be another dust collector and I can't afford little fancies like this any ways, but looking at it make me sigh . . . it's so adorable.

This is a beautiful photograph and even more so because of the story behind it. It is an amazing story of twin baby girls. One baby was not expected to live. A hospital nurse fought to put them in the same incubator. The stronger baby wrapped her arm around her sister, and her touch allowed the struggling baby's heart to stabilize and her temperature to return to normal.  Truly amazing and it is a true story.  You can read more about it here.  Those girls are a lot older now!  They are 17 and beautiful.

Having that special some one . . . be it a friend or a lover, a church,  or whatever.   Just having that special person or place in your life that makes you feel . . . this way.

Being a mother and now a grand-mother.   From the time I was a little girl, all I ever wanted to be was a mother.  That was my primary goal in life.  I admired women like June Cleaver and Aunt Bea, because they were mother/aunt/caregivers to those precious souls that are children.  Even though they were fictional characters, they were my role models.  I loved each of my babies before they were born.  I guess you could say I loved them from the time I was a little girl, as I was growing up and preparing myself for the day when one day I would hold them in my arms.  I prayed for my one day children all of my life and I prayed that I would be a good mother to them.   I was not perfect, but I did my best.  Being a mother makes me go aww . . .

More than anything else in the world, I know this to be true.  Love does change everything.
Think about it . . .

Having a sister I love to pieces.  Out of all the blessings God could have given me, having a sister is one of the best blessings ever.   We do not always see eye to eye on things.   Sometimes we annoy each other.  Always we love each other.   We share a history that we share with nobody else.   We "get" each other in a way nobody else will ever "get" us.  We can speak volumes to each other with only a look, or a touch of the hand.  I am so grateful for my sister.   She's the best.

Teddy bears.  I love teddy bears.   I was given my very first one when I was very small.  It came from my grandmother. I loved this bear to pieces . . . literally.   I had redone it's paws with fabric because I had worn it out.  I carried it with me all over the world, but on one move it disappeared and I never saw it again.  I often wonder just where he went and I like to think  that some place in the world he is bring joy to another heart like he brought to mine.

Little boys.   The smell of their sweaty little heads after a hard day's play in the hot summer sun.  The feel of their warm little arms snaking around your neck as they pull you close to say night night.  The giggles, the snakes, the laughter, the tears and everything in between.   I have a soft spot in my heart for little boys.

Freckles on a face.   They make me smile.   I love them.  I never had them when I was a child.   I always wanted them.  I wanted dimples too.

A thought to carry with you today . . .

  1. Marie I am sure Pip would send you her freckles and her dimples. She has one dimple high on her cheek and it was the first thing I saw when she was born.

AS difficult as they can be I love naughty little boys and I was blessed with one. My two girls are my treasures too. All I wanted to be was a mother. Family is the best gift.

  3. My list of awesome things would also include many of the same things. Being a mom is tops on the list for sure. There is not much that can beat holding that new babe in your arms for the very first time. Hope you have a wonderful Sunday!

  8. Oh I'm terribly late getting around to blogs after a busy few days.

I have freckles and believe me you are welcome to them! I actually read EVERY ad I found as a kid that promised to fade those freckles. When one has very fair skin and almost white blonde hair, those spots really stand out. Clarins liquid foundation with concealer is my best friend :-)

Little boys are a joy. Especially cheeky little boys like my son. Sisters though can be a royal pain. I have three sisters and two of them are lovely, but the other one is the meanest, nastiest person you could ever meet - and she's always been the same. She has the samt parents and upbringing as the other 9 of us, yet she's so different (and no-one in the family likes her)

I loved that twin story and want to hug the nurse who fought for them to be together. ♥ ♥ ♥

  9. I guess we always want what we don't have Marie and don't want what we do. I have curly hair and always wanted straight!

I just have the one sister. More than one might have been a problem! xxoo

Your comments mean the world to me, and while I may not be able to address each one individually, each one is important to me and each one counts. Thanks so much!
