Small and Wonderful things . . .

"The world is fairly studded and strewn with pennies cast broadside from a generous hand. But who gets excited by a mere penny?...It is dire poverty indeed when a man is so malnourished and fatigued that he won't stoop to pick up a penny. But if you cultivate a healthy poverty and simplicity, so that finding a penny will literally make your day, then, since the world is in fact planted with pennies, you have with your poverty bought a lifetime of days. It is that simple. what you see is what you get." ~Anne Dillard

A few of the small and wonderful things which bring untold joy into my life. It's the small things in life which truly mean the most. Simple abundance . . . it's the best.

It may not feel like it from where you are sitting, but today is actually the first official day of Spring, so you can take hope that its here and one day will follow another and with each one the days will get longer, and brighter, dryer, warmer . . . its a time of rebirth and renewal!  Hooray!

Tiny green buds are unfurling themselves on every branch.  I call it the "greening" of England.  The whole landscape has taken on a tender green flush, the flush of early Spring.  Frogs are mating.  Birds are nesting.  Its just a beautiful time of year, albeit wet, and often grey and dismal.  The sun is storing up its strength again and when the wind dies down we can feel its growing warmth.

Team Nova Scotia, Canadian Ultimate Frisbee Champions, first place winners. Yep that is my daughter's team.  That's her down in the right hand corner.  I am so pleased for her and her team, but what makes me even more happy is that she is happy, fit and healthy.  I pray that she always will be.

I only have one more big chapter to write which I hope to finish today, and then it is a couple of smaller ones, the introduction, terminology and ingredients, summary with Index, measures, conversions, etc.  I am right on target.

Knowing that this is true.

Knowing that this is also true.

Honey, Lemon and Ginger Tea for cold relief.  Just put a piece of ginger in the bottom of a mug along with the juice of half a lemon and the peel.  Bash it about a bit, pour on boiling water.  Let it steep.  Add a spoonful of honey and Bob's Your Uncle.  You have a great drink for when you have a cold. Must get Todd to pick me up some more fresh Gingerroot today.  And some lemons.

Being able to work despite feeling rough.  Well, I have no choice really. I have to do it.  Grateful that I can.

Todd only has six more treatments to get through.  Yay.  His last one is next Monday and then he has an appointment with the radiologist right after that one.   Hoping that we will soon see the end of this Cancer and he will be well on the road to recovery, but if he isn't, then we will keep fighting the fight and do whatever we have to do next.  Thanks so much for all of your prayers and happy thoughts, they are no small thing to us, but a very wonderful thing, and we appreciate them all so very much!

A thought to carry with you through today  . . .

  8. Oh, i love spring too. Last week was the first week that we have had warm weather; so I am seeing more signs of spring. I do love this time of year. I can just imagine how beatuiful England must be as spring rolls in.
I loved the photo of your daughter's team and their sucess is awesome. Sweet photo of her. I wish more of my children were fit. I don't have any that are good at exercising much anymore. I'm not a good example on that one.
Praying for you both. I hope you can both be totally well and healthy. I am happy that Todd is almost through with his treatments.
Loved your quotes today and another one of your precious drawings.
Have a sweet week my dear Marie! I know your book will be wonderful. Sending prayers, love and hugs your way~
