My Friday Finds . . .

A few of the things  I find each week that pique my interest, bring me joy, inspire me to learn, create, do, become . . . Maybe they will do the same for you!

From Meg Made With Love, a free pattern for a basketweave wash cloth, or flannel as they call it over here.

Design Birdy.  Video tutorial to make a mobile phone case.

Artsy Mama, Basic Hand Lettering. This could come in quite handy.

Inspiration only from Molly Meg.

Where Your Treasure Is, how to make a Tea Cosy. (sewing not crochet or knit)

Owl Cheese Ball from the same place.  So cute!

Garden Lover's Blog.  DIY Terra Cotta Plant People for the garden.  Plenty of inspiration.

The Tilled Garden. DIY Hydroponics. A great way to use up soda bottles also.

Yoga Poses to help you fall asleep. No source for this.

Polka Dot Chair, printable pom pom party hats.

Life of a Homeschool Mom. Free Printables for Valentines Day. For those who have religious leanings.  I love them!

For those who are looking for something a bit more secular, from Eighteen 25, Donut Printables for Valentines.

A Night Owl.  S'mores Valentines.

And that's it for this week.  I hope something here twigged your interest!

BOOK OF MORMON CORNER -  Today's Reading - Jacob 1:1-19
Question - Why does it seem societies often fall as a whole? Why is it never just a few people?

My ThoughtsIt's interesting to me to see which group of people Jacob is teaching about the dangers of pride, love of money and immorality. He's IN the temple. So it's covenant people! In Mosiah 29:22 it says "For behold, he has his friends in iniquity, and he keepeth his guards about him". I used to counsel the Young Women about this when I was a Young Woman's leader, (although it's applicable to any age) . . .  to teach them to pick their friends wisely. Because friends can make things eventually seem acceptable. Or they can inspire you to reach higher. I agree the influence of one righteous person, who stands for what is right . . .  no matter what, is huge! Also personally speaking, no one outside of church has ever led me away from God, but I have had friends in church that have influenced my life in not so great ways. I think when we put Jesus Christ at the centre of our lives and trust Him, everything makes more sense. But once we place anything else in central position we are on shaky ground.

Tomorrow's Reading (Day 76  - Jacob 2:1-16
Question - What have you learnt about Heavenly Father or Jesus Christ from the reading today? Why do you think Jacob struggles so much in these verses?

In The English Kitchen today  . . . .  Oat, Apple and Sunflower Seed Muffins.  Delicious!

Have a great Friday.  I am off to a funeral this morning, and then President Monson's funeral is tonight.  On the bright side, my friend Tina is back from Oz.  I have missed her.  Don't forget along the way of your day  . . . (and sometimes I need to remind myself of this truth also!)

  1. Hi Marie, I must try the yoga poses, sleep is my nemesis. What I would give for a full, uninterrupted nights sleep!

Those pictures are amazing, so simple yet so striking. I had thought once I retired I would do more crafts and painting, but I haven't done a thing! To be honest though I haven't got the room anymore for craft supplies.

Hope the funeral goes ok. Lots of love xxx

  2. Hi, Marie! Wow... another Friday already?! LOVE that pretty, lacy crochet phone case! How SWEET is that owl cheese ball??!! Wow...folks are so creative. Fun gardening idea for plastic bottles. Oooo we're on to Valentine's Day now...not far away, really. Love the Bible verse treats! I haven't been able to warm up to the turmeric tea. I know they are incredibly healthy, but I don't care of them much. Your muffins though, I will definitely take one of those. ;) Blessing to you & Todd as you say goodbye to folks today... LOVE YOU SO MUCH ((BIG HUGS))

That would be fun to do with the grands. It's turning nasty here with freezing rain followed by snow and cold weather. Not a good winter for us for sure !
