My Favourite Things . . .

These are a few of my favourite things.  Maybe some of them are yours also!  A few of the things which catch my eye, inspire me, pluck at my heart strings, make me smile, intrigue me or that I just plain enjoy. I hope that they will do the same for you.

Fruit.  I love eating fruit, raw or cooked.I have never met a fruit I didn't really like, although in all fairness I very seldom eat a raw banana out of hand.  I prefer it raw and sliced onto cereal, or baked into yummy banana bread.  My favourite fruit has to be ripe pears, followed closely by ripe white nectarines.

Painted wooden furniture, especially when the colours are  mixed together, like here with the white and the pale green.  I also love the painted wood panel walls, wooden counter top and pendant lighting.

This strikes all my chords!  Laura Ashley of course.

I really, really, REALLY love this dress.

I also really, really like this ring.  I like to wear dainty rings . . .  not huge rocks.

Vintage enamel ware.  And those tiles  . . .

A collection of Bird Houses  . . .

Black baby dolls  . . .  when I was a little girl, I wanted one more than anything, but never ever did get one.

Easter Trees . . .

Vintage Easter  . . .

The glimpse of a pretty blouse  . . .

 Ballerinas  . . . .

This rolling pin  . . . if ever I was tempted, this would do it  . . .

White polka dots on navy  . . .

Tender longing  . . . loyalty . . .

This plate  . . .  love in so many ways  . . .

And those are my favourite things for this week.

Have I told you about my problems on facebook? No? Well, about a week ago I started getting notifications that they were removing my recipe posts because they were considered spam and in contradiction with their community terms.  I have asked for a review of course, but I don't understand it.   People share recipe posts with me all the time, no problem.  I feel like someone has singled me out for some reason and is complaining.  It just doesn't make sense that they would start deleting my recipe posts unless someone personally called attention to them.  Otherwise wouldn't they be removing all of the recipe posts on there?  It has me flummoxed.  Why???

Anyways, not much I can do about it. I added my son as an admin on my page so he can keep an eye on it.  He is flummoxed also.  Why would anyone want to do this to me???

A thought to carry with you  . . .

In The English Kitchen today  . . .  Blueberry, Lemon & Almond Loaf.  An Ottolenghi recipe and delicious.

Have a wonderful Thursday.  We have decided to self-isolate now, just to be on the safe side.  We did pop to Costco yesterday and they were sanitizing all of the carts before you used them and just taking extra cautionary steps in general for the well-being of people. I was impressed.  I have never seen Costco so busy and so much loo roll being carted around. Seriously.   It was crazy.  In any case, do have a lovely, lovely day.  Stay safe and don't forget!

  1. We are staying home so much as we can too...just getting a few groceries now and again, gas and going over to play with daughter's doggie midday as she is home alone then, as needed. We have been pretty much hermits for awhile anyway. We do speak to those we see in the apt. halls...but that is infrequent. Hopefully that and other measure supposed to help, will do the job!!
I felt so proud the other day watching Harry and Meghan...how hard that is...to be "on stage" in some situations, but really? They carried it all off royally!!

    1. Yes, that is all we are doing as well. We have plenty to keep us busy with at home. I love Harry and Meghan. I think they are doing the best that they can in extreme circumstances! Love and hugs, xoxo

    1. Prince Charles has adopted a "Namaste" movemen with his hands pressed together and a nod. Good for him! I thought you would like the rolling pin. The Virus has now hit Chester. Ariana who is a nurse at the hospital messaged us to let us know. She is so good to do that. xoxo

  3. I'm going our ro ark up on aome things today. it's better to stay in if you don't have to go out. Here they are putting limits on how much toilet paper people can buy at a time. We're being exiled to our own homes so I'm glad germs cannot spread on Blogger. At least we have some social contacts.

  4. Hi Marie~

I'm so glad you decided to self isolate, better safe than sorry.

There hasn't been a case reported in Idaho...yet, it's coming. As soon as it's reported, I will not be leaving unless absolutely necessary, and then only for short periods of time. We had a family birthday party planned, but I have cancelled it, due to some of my kids having the flu. This is scary stuff.

I am so sorry and disappointed about your FB problems!! I think I have said it before, but FB drives me insane. The only reason I am on it is for RS and now my granddaughter's mission. I only look at it once a day and only for 5 minutes.

On a lighter note, I loved everything about this post!! You and I just are always on the same wavelength! Isn't it funny how people are stocking up on toilet paper?! I read an interesting article about - the family cloth - you should Google it, I found it to be very doable if necessary.

Stay in, stay healthy, know you are loved! XOXO

    Hugs and Love,
    Barb

  5. I am staying home since two days ago, though I may venture out for grocery shopping. I saw on FB how they won't let you post recipes, very odd and disappointing. I hope they fix the situation. C.S. Lewis' wisdom is so beautiful. Be well.

  6. Hi Marie, hope you get your Facebook problems sorted. Always something to keep us alert. They have extended Spring break by two weeks so kids are getting three weeks off here in Ontario. And the lights have gone out on Broadway. It feels like a science fiction movie but it is real. They say seniors should not gather together in groups of 10 or more. Sounds like self-isolution is a good idea. I have my appointment with the cardiologist tomorrow to see why I have shortness of breath. Fingers crossed it is something they can treat. Loved all your favourite things. Stay healthy. Hugs, Elaine

    1. Thanks Elaine! My son is keeping his children home in New Brunswick. Better safe than sorry. It is now in Chester and our church has cancelled all church servics and meetings for the unforeeable future! I am praying for you and your heart. Love you! xoxo

  7. Well, our morning shopping foray was not totally successful...no toilet paper in the 3 main places we stopped. We have some...but question is when we will have more. My question is whether it comes from China...so those of you still having TP available might want to stock up a bit. I think we might make it a month with what we have...mercy I do NOT want to make cloth ones!!
