These are a few of my favourite things.  Maybe some of them are yours also!  A few of the things which catch my eye, inspire me, pluck at my heart strings, make me smile, or that I just enjoy. I hope that they will do the same for you.

I am loving the way my Christmas Cake turned out this year.  I share a tutorial on how I did it here. Needless to say it was really easy as I am no confectioner.  I was quite pleased with the results.

This will always be my favourite however.  What can I say, I love gingerbread man anything!

Baking Christmas Cookies.  I don't really do many these days because there is just the two of us, but when my children were growing up December was a flurry of Christmas baking.

I had the nicest gift delivered yesterday from the people at Seafresh.  With a nice card attached, in appreciation for all the recipes I have shared this using highlighting their lovely fish.  Fish is so expensive these days, but we love it and we love theirs.  Now Todd has some nice smoked salmon to enjoy over the holidays as well as some Dressed Cromer Crab.  I will serve that to him on Christmas Eve and he will be thrilled.  It all looks very lovely and I am so very grateful for having been given such a lovely package!

I really hope that you have a great day.  It was raining cats and dogs when I got up this morning, havevn't checked to see if it still is.  I had wanted to maybe catch the bus and go into town today to see the Christmas Market.  They will be taking it down soon! (If not already).  I missed it completely last year and I am afraid I might do the same this year.  Whatever you get up to, don't forget!

  1. Dear Marie, lots of wonderful Christmas/winter favourites! Your cakes are beautiful. I love the clever way you decorated the gingerbread-themed one. And one of Santa's reindeer. Handsome fellow! I hope you do make it into town to see the Christmas market. Maybe it's not too late. Smoked salmon for Todd on Christmas eve. And those beautiful lacy mittens. Enjoy your day. Hope the rain stops. Hugs, Elaine
