The Simple Woman's Daybook . . .

FOR TODAY, July 17, 2018

Outside my window...
Its very overcast. We had rain yesterday and while it is not raining at the moment, they say we may later on. It is very much needed.

I am thinking ...
Our lives are very fluid, like water. It ebs and flows with changing tides. We are completely at its mercy. Sometimes good, sometimes bad . . . but hopefully at the end, we will say . . .  it was mostly good.

In the Kitchen ...

Salt and Pepper Chicken Strips, served with a delicious homemade Sweet & Sour Sauce.  These are to die for.  Quite simply delicious and very easy to make.

On my "To Cook" list ...

From Plain Chicken, Zucchini, Squash and Corn Casserole.  This looks very good.

Good to know ...

Savor & Saavy.  I'm all for saving money!

I am creating ...

Highland Hickory Designs.  It is a clothespin bag and uses a child sized hanger.  Cute!

African Flower Afghan. From Labullard on Ravelry.  Love this.

Pixie Heart Strings.  A sweet little dress.

Rachel Borello Carroll, on Ravelry.  Free pattern for "Little Kindness Monster."

Knitted Friends. Suzy Wool on Ravelry. Not free, but not expensive either.  These are really cute.

Oh my goodness ...

Fresh ripe watermelon. It is sooooooo good!

I am reading ...

More than the Tattooed Mormon, by Al Carraway

“Don’t go, Al. You won’t fit in.”

Being baptized and following the Lord has made Al’s life harder than it ever was before. She endured criticism from friends and family for becoming a Mormon. She faced harsh judgments from Church members for her appearance. She gave up everything and felt more alone than she ever had in her life. All because she chose God.

Now she shares an up-close look at how trusting God has led her to places she never expected. As a blogger, YouTuber, and award-winning public speaker, her message has reached millions. Sharing her love of the Savior, Al goes beyond her own conversion and encourages readers to choose God above anything else. This uplifting book inspires readers to build a true relationship with the Lord that will bring them real, lasting happiness.

Loving this.

I am looking forward to ...
Getting this week over. Tatiana coming in August.

Dreaming about ...

Pretty pearl earrings  . . .

Pretty plates  . . .

White cotton nighties . . .

Pretty jug bouquets . . .

Something to watch ...

Mash. Its still good after all these years  . . .

Makes me smile ...

Brothers. 3 boys in Cavendish.  Jake, Jon and Josh.  Love them very much.

Corners of my kingdom ...

Most definitely off to read that money saving on food without coupon, as we don't have coupons at all here! How cute is that clothes pin bag! You could make a few changes, crochet some wheels and make it like a camper wagon with big window!! Those knitted animals are sooo sweet! Your current reading sounds ever so good--I like true stories like that! :) Wishing you all a great new week there! LOVE YOU LOTS!! ((LOVE & BIG HUGS))

  4. We had a huge unexpected storm roll through last night. I have a phobia with thunder and ligtening so I was nervous and couldn’t go to bed. It’s really weird, I know. We do need the rain.
I must make the squash, zucchini and corn casserole; it sounds so yummy.
