My Friday Finds on a Thursday

My Friday Finds, but on Thursday because I won't be around tomorrow. Hope you don't mind!  I love doing these posts and sharing the things I discover with you!

Strawberry Gin Jam. Now that sounds interesting.  Gin has the flavour of Christmas trees.  They use it in martini's.  So this would be like Strawberry Martini Jam. Sounds like something worth trying. Found on Larder Love.

Crochet dish towel and dish cloth pattern. Not free, but not expensive either. Only $3.60.  From Hidden Meadow Crochet. She also has a crochet snowflakes pattern, amongst other things.

An easy way to transfer print to art journaling pages.  From Birgit's Daily Bytes. Complete instructions for the technique.

Mixed Media Blog.  Paper marbelling made easy.

Water Colour Cards.  From Glamour and Grace, they are Bridesmaid cards, but the technique could be used on all sorts of cards.

3-Ingredient Orange Chicken Sauce with Crispy Chicken.  Looks delicious.  From Crafty Morning. This looks amazing.

Basic Quilt Making from A Maiden Hair Fern.  Some great info there. I quite like the colours of this quilt in the photograph.

I love this scrappy quilt. No links for instructions, just inspiration and eye candy.

Art Journalist.  A brilliant resource page for anyone who is wanting to begin doing an Art Journal. It is filled with techniques, ideas and tutorials.

The Fold Line.  PDF Pattern for this swing dress by Sew Over It.  Not free, but not expensive either.  Love this style. Of course I would make mine a LOT longer because of my knees.

A fun game to make for the boys this summer (Or the girls for that matter!).  They could even help make it.  Fun. Fun. Fun!  From Frugal Fun 4 Boys.  Oh how much I could have done with the kids if the internet had only been around when my kids were growing up!

Games to help entertain the kiddos.  From Princess Pinky Girl.

Make your own Decorative Bird Nests.  Complete Tutorial from The Pecks.

DIY Tire Flower Planter Tutorial from DIY Show Off. What a great re-use for an old tire!

Bottle Cap Lady Bug Magnets.  From Suburbia Unwrapped. Cute ideas on that page! You don't have to have lots of money to make cute things!

And those are my finds for this week. I hope you found something you can use!

We are off to Scotland tomorrow morning early.  I plan on posting at least one picture each day to show you what we are doing.  That is, if I can get on line and if I can figure it out!  I got myself a knee brace yesterday and some inserts for my shoes.  I wore the brace for a good part of the day and it helped a bit and the shoe inserts helped a lot, although my calves were a bit sore last night. I expect I will get used to them!  I just want to have some mobility for this trip!  Wish me luck!

A thought to carry with you  . . .

This week I cured my own bacon chops at home. It was easy and delicious. The recipe is on The English Kitchen today.

Have a great Thursday and a great week!  I will catch you on the flip side!  Don't ever forget!

Thanks Kate! It will be my first time really visiting Scotland. We went to Gretna Green one time when we were holidaying in Cumbria and I was in Edinborough as a baby at the airport. I don't think they count! lol xoxo

Thanks so much Suzan. I am being positive. That is HALF the battle I think! xoxo

  8. Marie, I hope u and ur Todd have a GREAT holiday! All of ur friends will be looking forward to all the beautiful pictures that u take in Scotland too!

I love that dress, but not the sleeves. I don't like them in between, bc I'm always pulling on them. I wore a shirt of my daughter's with sleeves like that once!

The crochet dish towel and cloth would just be for show, esp after all that work making it. Lol.

The water color cards is what one of my sister's has been sending my Mom. Now I can show my Mom how she does it, bc she asked me acouple of days ago about it.

Oh I love quilts around my house esp in the summer!

That orange chicken sauce I need to make real soon, but double the sauce.
Thanks, for two more food blogs to check out!

I can't wait to hear all about ur holiday when u come back!
You two have a happy and safe trip! xoxo

  9. I am a bit late tonight getting a message to you...sorry....you might see it before setting off in the morning..if you do you know that I am wishing you and Todd a lovely lovely holiday.....and Mitzie as well......weather looks settled for next week so that will be a bonus...enjoy every mile. I am so glad you got the brace that I'm sure will help, it certainly helped me many years ago when the hospital was just trying out that way to alleviate the painful knee...nightlight. God Bless.
