These are some of the things in life that I enjoy and which make me happy, inspire me, or put a smile on my face. Maybe some of them are yours too. Lets share!
This. I remind myself of this every morning. I thank God every morning when I open my eyes. Thank you Lord, for giving me a new day to make my mark upon. Each day is a gift that will never come again.
Autumn colors. I love this time of year. It is so beautiful.
Old tea kettles . . . especially if they are filled with blooms . . .
I love these stories. They were my favorites when I was a child. I even had a small record which has the story of Flopsy's tail on it.
Pockets. I like to have a pocket if I can.
Flowers. I love flowers.
Cake. Chocolate is not my absolute favorite. I prefer a Victorian Sponge, but then again I will not turn down a piece of chocolate cake if offered. I just love cake.
Tree Houses. I always wanted to live in a tree house. Ever since I saw Disney's Swiss Family Robinson as a child.
Pretty Tea Cups. Just love them.
Foxes . . .
Pretty lanterns . . .
Autumn fruits and vegetables . . . especially squash and parsnips . . .
Blueberry Bakes . . .
Antique desks . . .
Pretty dresses . . .
Barns . . . I love barns . . .
And those are my favorite things for this week. Maybe some of them were yours too!
A thought to carry with you . . .

In The English Kitchen today, another favorite thing. A Classic Gingerbread Loaf Cake. You can never have too many gingerbread recipes in my opinion!!
I won't be here tomorrow as Cindy and I are going on our road trip! Wish us luck! I hope that you have a most beautiful day and that you are blessed. Love and hugs to you all! Don't forget!

And I do too!
Love Autumn colours and Peter Rabbit books, have a collection of the books and dishes and cute little tins filled with tea. Have a fun day with Cindy tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds adorable Linda! I would love to see a photo of that. I bet you already have one somewhere! Thanks. I am looking forward to spending some time with Cindy! xoxo
DeleteBlessings on your road trip with Cindy...sounds like fun!!

Thanks Elizabeth! I am really looking forward to it! xoxo
DeleteMy most favourite gingerbread recipe is your ‘Worlds best gingerbread’
ReplyDeleteIn your opinion which is your most favourite recipe out all of your gingerbread recipes.
I’m asking because I’ve been tempted to try another one of your gingerbread recipes but I’m hesitating simply because I love the aforementioned one.
Thanks Marie 😄
OHHH, that's a hard question Faye, because I love them all. But if I had to pick only one of all of them, I would pick this one: https://www.theenglishkitchen.co/2020/01/deep-dark-delicious-gingerbread.html
DeleteLet me know what you think! xoxo
Thanks Marie, will definitely be making this month 😁
DeleteLovely favourites today, Marie. Quick question - do molasses have a use by date? Asking for someone who has a container of it that has been in the fridge probably more than 5 years. Have a lovely Friday with Cindy. You must be so excited. Love and hugs, Elaine (in Toronto)
ReplyDeleteHI Marie! You are on the Farm Markets tour today, Friday, so I do hope that you see this post. I had an eureka moment when I thought about your sister's husband being laid off from work. Do you think he would be interested in starting his own business? He is very handy with fixing things, from what you mention now and then. What about his business being named "Handy Dan"? He can charge hourly or by the job. He will need to get liability insurance coverage, and be registered as LLC (Limited Liability Corporation) or whatever the classification is in Canada. So then, if he chose to do that, he would be "Handy Dan, LLC". Sending a hug.
ReplyDeleteHi, Marie! Your sister is soooo talented! Her illustrations could grace any publication, from flower and garden to the kitchen and food. From botanical publications to beauty and self-care pamphlets or books. Even illustrating tools and how-to books. She can send some of her illustrations to various companies, along with her application. xoxo
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful things! I love a window with a simple, pretty view and I also love blueberry bakes:) And blueberries! You are so right that each day is a gift to be enjoyed. We are blessed. Thanks, as always, for sharing all the pretty things!! Happy weekend to you -
