These are some of the things in life that I enjoy and which make me happy, inspire me, or put a smile on my face. Maybe some of them are yours too. Lets share!
The curiosity of cats, even though admittedly it does sometimes get them into trouble! My cats always have to inspect everything that comes into the house and they do with great curiosity. I love to watch them. Well, I think its fair to say I just love them. I love all animals.
Tea and cake. My tea is herbal of course. I love Ginger and Lemon. Tea and cake are just two of life's greatest pleasures, especially when taken together.
This. It just makes me happy. I love looking at it. Homey and cozy. It looks like the pillow case might be embroidered but I can't really tell for sure.
Lighthouses . . . Cindy will tell you. I love lighthouses. Oh, how wonderful it would be to live in a lighthouse with a house attached. I could not go up the stairs of course, not now, but when I was younger, I would have loved it.
Lemon tarts . . . and these are especially pretty. Are those forget-me-nots? I cannot really tell. If so, they are one of my absolute favorite flowers!
Love, love this dinnerware. It looks like Wedgewood although I am not certain that it is. If not, it is very similar. Love those roses as well. They are one of my favorite colors of roses . . . blush.
Candlestick holders. I have one which I bought from a Nordic supply place prior to moving back to Canada. It is white enamel and managed to get back here unbroken. There is a slight chip in it, but that only adds to the beauty of enamelware in my opinion.
Quality fresh fruit and vegetables. Something which Mrs Hen approves of as well. I wish we had more of that here . . . oh and the Sweet Peas. Have I ever told you that Sweet Peas are my absolute favorite flower? It is true. If I was a young Bride I would want a bouquet of Sweet Peas.
Using pretty glass bottoms to imprint cookies. I have some crystal candlesticks that do a fabulous job of it. So pretty . . .
Are you sure I can't help you with that? That would be mine. They love to be involved with everything I do. I don't mind. They help to make my life sweet and more interesting.
The cozy comfort of rainy days. We need more of them I think. We have not had enough rain yet this year I don't believe. I sure hope we don't get fires like we had last year . . .
Oh, I do so love an AGA stove. There was one in the kitchen at the big house when I worked there. It was the only heat they had in the kitchen in the Winter months. It was so cozy. I used to love cooking on it as well. I probably cooked on it more in the cooler months than I did the regular stove.
This really makes me smile. I wonder what he is watching . . . he is very intent on it . . .
Mismatched plates . . . somehow they just go together . . .
Natural fabrics . . . I love cotton, linen . . .
A little red house . . . how sweet, looks like it is close to the sea . . .
Now that is truly adorable, don't you think??
Double Hollyhocks . . .
This. It is stunning . . .
Milk delivery in glass pint bottles. They still had it in the U.K. The Tits used to sometimes peck the little foil lids off and drink the milk.
And those are my favorite things for today. I hope that some of them were yours also!
A thought to carry with you . . .

half full or half empty,
I am just happy to have a glass.

And I do too!
My bathroom has a theme of lighthouses, shells, and unusual stones. I have photos I've taken of various lighthouses framed in there. My favourite lighthouse is Fisgard Lighthouse in Victoria. It looks to be a nice day here, hope it is the same for you. Have a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteMarie, have you thought to publish a book of your cat photos? They are not easy to photograph, and you capture their essence of expression. xoxo
