My Favourite Things . . .

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOOPpfEd5Zsq2tbOc2-UBk6Njak8VrG7e7evggWXGZ2mh-j53ekFS5_iJ7oLR7meELGbGOHT1tpJoMRH-WDForIBx-F86puBU5K_uuGKf1hWiGc5Jko8kG6S71gFooUD3ZEZNrNzAWfJI/s320/alfp_favorite_things.png

A few of the things which catch my eye, inspire me, pluck at my heart strings, make me smile, or that I just enjoy.  Maybe they will do the same for you.

This new trend towards things like watermelon cakes.  I could nt find a source for this, but would be happy to post it if I did.  This looks absolutely delicious! And totally refreshing. I adore watermelon.

Pansies. I adore them.  Their little upturned faces.  Their ruffled coats.  So pretty.

Herbal Teas. I picked up this collection on Amazon Prime Day for a fiver.  So many choices . . .

I'm not sure if I am quite ready for Sensual Me, but I did have a cup of Youthful Me yesterday and it was quite nice!

Maple Leaf Cookies  . . .  one of my absolutely favourite cookies.  I miss them.  I should figure out a way how to make them from scratch. Or maybe not.  Might be dangerous to have around, lol.

Cicely Mary Barker's Flower Fairies.  I can't pick a favourite one of them however. I Love them all.

This house  . . .  it has everything.  Well, I would have a full bath downstair also if I could. Just tack about six extra feet onto the back of that downstairs bathroom.

Of course with a house that big, we'd also want one of these  . . .

This butterdish  . . .

Vintage Barbie.  I had outfit number 5. Dinner at 8.

Vintage Aprons.  Ohh, do you remember when they used to sell patterns in the Newspaper?  I bought a few of those for making dolls.

Cantuccini Biscotti . . .

Rhinestone Buttons  . . .

Blowing bubbles  . . .  I have never gotten over my love for it  . . .

Blythe Dolls  . . .  I don't have one but I like them.  A lot.

Christmas Candles, but I am not sure I could ever bring myself to burn them  . . .

Copic Markers  . . .  love them the most of all the alcohol markers out there.

Red hair and freckles  . . .

Walking barefooted on cool grass  . . .

Fresh garden tomatoes  . . .

Meghan and Harry.  I wish the press would just leave them alone   . . .

Silver foxes . . .  no explanation needed  . . .

Gidget . . .

Gingham . . .  any way, any shape, any time . . .

And those are my favourite things for this week.   I've been having some episodes with my left eye. Its my weak eye anyways, but I get these like swirling lights, shaped in an oval and  moving and I can't see properly, even with my eyes closed.  Its happened about 4 or 5 times.  It goes off afer a while. Usually if I have been sitting in a sunny spot concentrating like at the dining room table taking photos, etc.  I am going to have my eyes tested tomorrow. But I may need to go to a pair of glasses that is light sensitive?  Hopefully it is nothing serious.

A thought to carry with you.

No new recipe today as I could not see to post what I had planned, so a throwback to White Chocolate Cheesecake.  A very easy recipe.

Have a beautiful day  . . .  don't forget!

  1. Oh Mercy, Marie...do get into having that eye checked. I have had similar...and mine was bleeding behind the eye. Fortunately, one eye quit on its own and they did laser surgery on the other. Yes, my eyes are impacted and may always be...but I can still see and can still do things, albeit a bit more slowly. Do not mess around with your eyes, my friend!!

    1. I have an appointment to see the optician tomorrow Elizabeth. The last thing I want to do is go blind. I could handle being deaf, but blind would be traumatic to say the least! Love and hugs, xoxo

  2. We are twins with the eyes now..I am sure you remember my first time..and it's still not right but her reassurance was all I needed..next the other eye..happens in a flash pardon the pun so now both eyes are wonky..the latter being the worst as it does seem to get better but months along..I am so surprised at everything that changes w/ age.65 and my bone density shows a need for action ..pre osteo..so of course the next day I am eating more yogurt cheese and drinking milk blech..Trick..1/3 chocolate the rest white.
Until I see the specialist in Sept.
    SOOOOO WEIRD 65.

    1. It is very disconcertig Monique. I already have both eyes which have experienced PVD's and now this. Its my left eye. Lasts abour 35 to 40 minutes and then goes off. It is like swirlies, or grabbing lights in an oval shape and they make it impossible for me to see and I even see them if I close my eyes. I have an appointment tomorrow for the optician and hopefully it is nothing serious. Yes, getting older SUCKS bigtime in so many ways. Not in others, but healthwise, everything starts to break down. You begin to pay for the sins of your youth! lol wow, thats a lot for those teas! Had it not been only £5 I would not have bought. It was on impulse really. And naughty of me. xoxo

  3. Lots of your favourites are my favourites, too. I loved watching Gidget and after that, The Flying Nun. I love those Maple 🍁 Cookies, too. In fact we currently have a box in the house. Hope your eye appointment goes well tomorrow, Marie. Take gentle care. Hugs, Elaine

  4. Thanks Elaine! Oh the flying nun, I loved Sister Bertrill! Made me almost want to be a nun myself! Except I liked boys too much, lol. It is bucketing down rain. I will be a drowned rat by the time I get to the Optomatrist! Love and hugs, xoxo
