My Favorite Things . . .

These are some of the things in life that I enjoy and which make me happy, inspire me, or put a smile on my face. Maybe some of them are yours too.  Lets share!

Clematis. I love LOVE Clematis. I had a couple of lovely ones in the U.K. I don't have any here, but a neighbor just two doors down has a beautiful one.  This is a plant that gives very generously of itself!

Have you ever seen such a beautiful sink?  Neither have I.  This is stunning.

This is my favorite style of sink for the kitchen.  I believe it is called a Butler's Sink.

Elegance.  It reminds me of the bathroom at my cousin's place in Vermont. The tub was a clawfoot tub however.

The name is Bond  . . .  James Bond . . .  who was your favorite Bond?

Puffins. I love them. I think there are Puffins in Nova Scotia. I think Cindy and I should go Puffin hunting.

Cabins  . . .  I always wanted a cabin.  I know . . .  two houses to keep clean, lol

Braids, or plaits as they are called in the U.K.  I put my hair into one every night for sleeping.

The art of being "kind." Would that more people practiced it.

Love the pale green color of this house  . . .

Love the color of this house also.  Our house in New Brunswick was this color, with white trim and a red door that I painted myself.

This is cute in a "hobbity" sort of way.

What an elegant breakfast.  Some good bread, curls of cheese, a good jam, butter, an egg  . . .  presentation is everything.

Yes, please . . . what a lovely watch.

This  . . . .

Love that movie. I have not seen it in a long while. Time to find it and watch it again methinks!  Another favorite thing  . . .  films you never get tired of seeing.

Red, white and blue.  A color combination I have always loved.

Spaniels . . .  they are the loveliest dogs.  It broke my heart to have to leave Mitzie. The one on the left looks like her as a very young puppy. So much.

Well, maybe not  . . .  but sweet all the same  . . .

Picnics . . .  have never had one this elegant however. 😀 Wouldn't that be lovely!

Fountains  . . .  the cats have one.  Its not quite this elegant.

And those are my favorite things today.  What are some of yours?

A thought to carry with you . . .

One of my favorite quotes.

In The English Kitchen today  . . .  Peppercorn Filet Steaks for Two So delicious, with a creamy cognac sauce. I used stock instead of cognac and the sauce was still delicious!

I hope you have a beautiful day filled with lots of the things you love and the people that you love.  May you be truly blessed in the living and may you never forget!

  1. I think cocker spaniels are the clowns of the dog world...never had one but enjoyed playing with those who belonged to friends. My favorite breeds was the last dog we had who was a blue heeler border collie. Also something of a clown...those types dogs seem to love entertaining us and making us laugh!!

  2. We are getting much needed rain with it pouring down today. Inside jobs, perhaps cooking a rhubarb something or other. Have a lovely day.

  3. A movie that I've enjoyed seeing multiple times is "Amadeus"
