The Simple Woman's Daybook . . .

FOR TODAY, February 5th, 2019

Outside my window ...
The sun is just starting to rise. I am a bit later getting started this morning. Its quite cold at the moment. -1  But it is dry.

I am thinking ...
About how your life can change in a millisecond. One minute you are living one sort of life and then blink, its been replaced by something else.

I am thankful ...

One of my favourite things ...

Ripe pears.  I adore them.

In the kitchen ...

Cheese & Marmite Scones

Cheese & Marmite Scones.  These are fabulously tasty!

On my "To Cook" list ...

Recipe Tin Eats.  One Pot Greek Chicken with Lemon Rice.  This looks very tasty.

Good to know ...

Family History Daily .  Some great tips.

I am creating ...

Crochet coasters on Fab Art DIY. So pretty. Free pattern.

Instructables. How to join new yarn.

I am reading ...

Cradle on the Waves, by Mae Leveson
A chance opportunity to move to Prince Edward Island is the inspiration behind Mae's account of leaving the city behind and exchanging it for life in Canada's smallest province. Here she discovers the beauty of the rolling green hills and stunning beaches, which attract almost a million visitors each year, as well as the reality of life on an island after the tourist season has ended. She rediscovers that sense of joy, which was missing from her former life, and shares her observations and insights of what it takes to be an Islander.

This is really, really good!

Looking forward to ...
Apparently some of my grandsons have written me a letter. I am looking forward to getting it!

Dreaming about ...

Roses on chains  . . .

Butterflies and beads  . . .

Pretty pillow slips   . . .

Painted chairs  . . .

Butterfly skirts  . . .

Makes me smile ...

Oh to feel like you're flying  . . .

Something to watch ...

Very entertaining.  The best of the best.  I have to admit however, I do not enjoy the acts that put lives at risk.  That's not entertaining to me.

A thought to carry with you  ...

  1. Hi Marie, lovely day book! I am definitely in the 'love' Marmite camp, I could live on it!! I love it best on hot buttered toast....mmmmmm!

I'm excited for your letter too! It'll be another one to treasure along with all your Mums letters.

I'm off to Arrowe Park hospital today to see the ophthalmologist. I don't have any central vision in my right eye and when I went for my eye test last year the optician was a bit concerned about my left eye and referred me to the hospital. Although everything seems ok (touch wood!) It's better to be safe than sorry. We had arranged to go to London to celebrate Chinese New Year with Pete and Ashley and her mum and dad, but we've cancelled that as this takes priority.

It looks like the next couple of days are going to be dry and a bit warmer so we're taking my sister out tomorrow to give Richard a break. She loves shopping and walking so we'll go somewhere were we can combine the two.

Big hugs and lot's of love xxx

    1. I would think your eyes take priority Kate! You can never be too careful with your eye sight! I hope everything is okay! I hope you have a lovely time with your sister tomorrow. A bit bittersweet I know. ((((hugs)))) I embarassed myself in the Doctors this morning. I was trying to describe something and all of a sudden I lost my words. I said, sorry I am having a brain burp! It did come to me eventually, but I was embarassed! Have a great time shopping and walking! Love and hugs, xoxo

    1. Thanks very much Tracy! I really love this book, probably even more so as I am very familiar with the area, having been born in Summerside and having spent many summers there with my inlaws through the years and a son who lives there even now! I think one day I might like to go back and live there. Love and hugs to you! xoxo
