Friday Finds . . .

A few of the things  I find each week that pique my interest, bring me joy, inspire me to learn, create, do, become . . . Maybe they will do the same for you!

I love Tea Cosies and I love Counted Cross Stitch, this is for a class to make this sweet tea socy and tea cup pin cushion. I don' tknow how much it costs, but the link is here at The Victoria Sampler.

In the meantime, here is a pattern for a Summer Bunting one, that is tres inexpensive at Love Knitting.  I think this is cute and quirky.  I can see it in white with really colourful buntings!

I love this sweet baby cardigan, also from Love Knitting.  That's a great site for inexpensive nice knitting patterns.

A great infogram on the timings of Boiled Eggs.  Perfect!

I couldn't find a source for this, but isn't it cute?  It would make a great Christmas Ornie for a guitar enthusiast!

I am so going to try these tasty Irish Apple Scones from a site called Irish Expressions.  Watch this space!

How to paint a simple beach scene using acrylics. From Birch and Button

Sparrow on a branch window decoration. Lubie Tworzy.

Leelah Loves.  Hanging Tin Can Planters.  Cute!

Paper Umbrella Tutorial from Deko King.  How very Spring!

Quilted Christmas Tree Angel from Jan Made.

No source, just inspiration!

Cloth Paper Scissors. Making a Colour Journal.

A very pretty necklace created from Vintage Linens, from Mary Stanley. I cannot imagine  doing this to vintage linens myself, seems a bit sacriligious, but to each their own and they are very pretty!

Crochet Heart Corner Book Mark from Knitted Patterns.

Again no source.  Just a bit of "Pie" Candy.  (Like how I did that, lol)  Seriously who has the time.  But pretty to look at!

Twig and Toadstool.  Acorn Birdsnest.  Cute!

A bit of help with the cleaning from Clean Mama Net.

How to draw side profiles from Erika Bonezzi on Instagram.

Club 31 Women.  Simple steps to hosting a tea party.

And those are my finds for this week.  I hope you found some inspiration here!

A thought to carry with you . . .

One glance at a book and you
hear the voice of another person,
perhaps someone dead for 1000 years.

Today's Reading -
Mosiah 6:1-7:7
Question - What have you learnt from the reading today? What Christ like attributes did King Benjamin possess?
Thoughts - King Benjamin was a great leader. Although he was a King he didn't exalt himself above his people, he laboured WITH them. He led by his example and clearly he taught his son to do likewise as Mosiah followed in his footsteps. This reminds me of President Uchtdorf's talk, 'The greatest among you'. He also set everything in order, we know that this is following a heavenly pattern.
Tomorrow's Reading (Day 103) -  Mosiah 7:8-17
Question - What have you learnt from the reading today? What does it mean to speak with boldness?
In the kitchen today, a delicious one dish meal . . .  Curried Chicken Casserole.  Scrumptious!
Have a wonderful Friday.  Don't forget!

  1. Great finds Marie! I actually like both tea cosies! The baby sweaters bring back memories. The boiled egg time table would be handy for people. Another food site to check out. No Jan didn't make that quilted angel. Hahaha!

What a waste of those vintage linens! Unless they were very soiled and gross. Lol.
I'd wash the dishes in that sink!

That chicken casserole is making me hungry again... before I go to sleep.
    Love and big hugs!xo

    1. You don't half make me smile Jan! Hope you have slept well! Love and hugs, xoxo

  2. Hi Marie, lovely finds again today. I love your quote too. One of the things I wanted to do in 2018 was read more. I don't know why but it just seemed to have slipped out of my life without me even realising it. So I am now on my 3rd book and delighted! I have been using Amazon so I can download it onto my phone and ipad and I've also added the narration versions for a couple of extra pounds. I can then flip between the two which I love, especially at the end of the day when my eyes are too tired. If I put my headphones in I can read in bed without disturbing George. Happy days!!

Have a lovely Friday! Lot's of love xxx

    1. I am afraid if I listened to books via headphones I would fall asleep and they would keep running. It happens when I am reading on my kindle! Hope your Friday is going well. The sun is shining here! Love to you! xoxo

  3. Hi, Marie...happy Friday! Just love your Friday posts! And LOVE, love, love that elaborately embroidered tea cozy--WOW! How sweet is that embroidered guitar! Cute gift maybe for a female musician? mmm... a boiled egg. One of the best meals is simply a boiled egg, toast and tea! We usually do about a 6 minute egg--squish, but not too runny. Those apple scones look so good! I'm hoping to bake come raspberry scones this afternoon--belated Valentine treat. Your curried chicken casserole looks the perfect Sunday roast! The bird-window decoration is a fun idea...and those paper umbrellas too! LOVE that crochet heart bookmark--might have to try that! That pie is outrageously beautiful--so beautiful I couldn't cut into it. Too much time, for sure! So many goodies today--thank you, Marie! Wishing you all a lovely weekend now! LOVE YOU SOOO MUCH!! :))) ((LOVE & BIG HUGS))

    1. Thanks Tracy! You see a lot of pies highly decorated like that nowadays, but I wonder how flakey the pastry is after all that fiddling around with it. Pastry to be good needs a very light touch! I hope you have a lovely weekend also and enjoy your belated Valentine Treat! Love you so much also. Wish we could talk. Love and big hugs back, xoxo

  4. LOL I plan on making the BUnting one..sort day:) I pinned it a while festive and cute.I have an April Cornell fabric tea cozy..and downloaded a the hopes of trying to make one..this one is a beaut!
Can't wait to start seeing what you knit for bébé:)♥

    1. Oh, I am spoilt for choice with the baby Monique! I can't make up my mind! Ugh!! I am such a ditherer when it comes to choosing! xoxo

  5. Wonderful collection of finds for Friday. The tea cozy with bunting is adorable

    1. I know Linda, I am right in LOVE with it! I can see me making it one day, soon I hope! xoxo

  6. Hi Marie, after a were bit odd letters appearing and me having to delete them all I ...think...I can leave a comment. You know I always love your Friday finds, today is no exception. I think that little heart corner book mark would make a great present for any reader, I can't crochet but I'm sure you could turn them out in the dozen and maybe sell them, they woudnt take much wool, just oddments, then there were these delightful umbrellas, I can just see them on your window,, for the birds on branches across a window that's great for the ....drum could easy make it but for SURE I or anyone else would be afraid to eat it it must have taken hours to do it....hope your looking forward to a nice weekend, take care. God bless

    1. Aww thanks Sybil! We are starting our weekend off by cleaning the chapel this morning. I hope it doesn't take overly long! God bless you also, Love to you and Mary and Peter! xoxoxo (an extra for P.)

  7. Hi Marie~

Oh my goodness, I feel like I am so behind with your posts!! You know how I love your, Friday Finds, I couldn't miss this one! So many wonderful ideas to share and think about. Three minute eggs for me...I love soft boiled eggs, they just make me feel cozy, like I am at my grandmother's house...soft boiled eggs, homemade bread and home canned peaches, a typical breakfast at grandma's house.

So many cute felt and sewing ideas! Acrylic was my medium when I painted, I loved that it was forgiving...I needed forgiving. Overwhelmed is the word I would use for my life these past few weeks, and my house is just screaming at me to clean it...I really need to read that blog!! Crocheted bookmarks are always needed at this house...I love the little heart, it looks fairly easy, I'm going to give it a try!

Loved your Book of Mormon thoughts. I had almost forgotten that the nickname for, James and John..."Sons of Thunder", what a great talk!! James and John must have been the boldest of them all, and very faithful to Christ's teachings, I needed to read that talk again, thank you for posting it!

Thank you for sharing, I always feel better after I have scoured your posts...;0) Have a wonderful week-end, remember you are loved!

    Hugs and Love,

    1. Aww thanks so much Barb. I am sorry that you are still struggling. Keeping you in my deepest prayers! Love and hugs, xoxo

  8. I loved browsing through your favorite Friday Finds. They are always so fun. Today I enjoyed your thoughts about them all. You have the best of personalities and I loved it. You have such a great sense of humor and of course I still think you should write a novel.
Just know I enjoyed this one but don't have a minute more to tell you all my thought.
Sending warm thoughts, love and hugs your way! Thanks for brightening my day~

    1. Thanks very much LeAnn! Your comments always brighten my day also! Love and hugs and blessings to you and Roger! xoxo
