FOR TODAY, February 10th 2015
Outside my window ...
It's still quite dark. No sign of the sun yet. If this was summer it would be shining and the birds would be singing already.
I am thinking ...
I was looking at all of the fashions at the Grammy's and I was thinking . . . what on earth possesses some people? There were some really nice dresses, but then there were others that left you scratching your head. I thought Tom Jones looked really nice in his blue suit.
I am thankful ...
For another day to enjoy!
In the kitchen ...
Cheesy Corn Dip. Great for game day! Or FHE!
On my "To Cook" list ...
Baked Chicken Teriyaki Tenders From the Reluctant Entertainer. These look delicious!
I am creating ...
I still have this pile of Raggedy's facing me, but I managed to get one finished and in my shop for sale. I got some more painting done yesterday afternoon for my portfolio. I seem to be in a bit of a creative funk at the moment.
I love this Pillow from Moda Bake Shop. It's a complete tutorial.
I love this little heart purse. I know a little girl who would probably really like this. From Daisy Cottage Designs.
I think these tea cup pouches are adorable. From Flickr.
I am going ...
I don't have a lot of plans this week. I have been leading a very boring life of late. The only plans I have are to go grocery shopping later today. B O R I N G
I am reading ...
Amy and Isabelle, by Elizabeth Strout
Isabelle Goodrow has been living in self-imposed exile with her daughter Amy for 15 years. Shamed by her past and her affair with Amy's father she has submerged herself in the routine of her dead-end job and her unrequited love for her boss. But when Amy, frustrated by her quiet and unemotional mother, embarks on an illicit affair with her maths teacher, the disgrace intensifies the shame Isabelle feels about her own past. Throughout one long, sweltering summer as the events of the small town ebb and flow around them Amy and Isabelle exist in silent conflict until a final act leads ultimately to the understanding they both crave.
This is a book by the same author of Olive Kitteridge. I enjoyed that so I thought I would read another one of hers. Actually this is the first novel she had published. So far it is quite good. I want to pick another Inspector Gamache novel to read also. I really enjoyed the first one!
I have also added
Unbearable Lightness, by Portia De Rossi
If anyone doesn't know, Portia de Rossi is married to Ellen Degeneres. This chronicles her battles with eating disorders and all that entails. It's compelling reading.
I am hoping ...
I hope that I can shake this blue feeling I have had lately.
Makes me smile ...
The thought that Spring is just around the corner . . .
I am learning ...
That I can't do it all and what's more that I don't HAVE to do it all.
Around the house ...
Is this not adorable. I love it. From Creme Anglaise.
I love the way the light comes through this window, with it's wild flowers and pom pom edged curtains. Sigh . . .
Swoon worthy . . .
I am pondering ...
Life with all it's ebs and flows. Years ago people worked really, really hard . . . but they seemed happier. They didn't have much. They didn't need much, unless you were really, really poor. That must have been quite depressing to be really, really poor in the middle ages and the Victorian ages. We are pretty blessed today in this country. Nobody is really, really poor . . . what we think is poor is not poor at all.

One of my favourite things ...
Spending time with this man God gave me . . .
A peek into my day ...
I write every day . . . be it in my journal, or on the computer. Poetry. Thoughts. Quotes.
I am a lover of words and of writing.
And that's my day book for this week!
