A few of the things that make me smile, bring happiness and joy, and make my heart go pitter pat. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I say its worth a thousand smiles.
Doesn't this just make your heart smile?
This reminds me of the little iron bell I had on my shed back in the UK. I loved that bell with the little birds . . .
Elbow patches . . .
Stoneware mugs . . .
Hydrangea . . .
Now that's a well planned garden . . .
An apple a day keeps the doctor away . . .
Foxes . . . toadstools . . . ferns . . .
Red kettles . . .
Chickens . . .
Good books, toasty fires, comfy chairs . . .
Straw hats, lacy dresses, and daisies . . .
Stone circles . . . they fascinate me . . .
Buttercups . . . did you play the "Do you like butter?" game when you were a child?
Red gates, stone walls . . . red geraniums . . .
I had this cup . . . it was a favorite . . .
Blue and white pottery . . .
Cardinals . . . .
Floral edging . . . .
This . . . .
I can't help but smile.
This curtain . . .
And those are my favorite things for this week. I hope you also enjoyed them!
I am a huge fan of crime programs, and crime dramas. I started to watch a program on my Prime two days ago and I have not been able to get it out of my mind. Untold, The Murder of James Bulger. True story, and I vaguely remember it happening at the time it happened. It was in Liverpool in the UK. I would have been living in New Brunswick and my youngest son would have only been a bit older them Jamie.
Have you ever started to watch something and then wish that you hadn't? I wish I hadn't. It was a horrific, horrific crime. I wasn't that far into it and I was blubbering, and I haven't been able to get it out of my mind. I did not finish it because what happened was far too horrible. My heart is too tender for things like this . . . I should have known better.
On a positive note I did enjoy my supper out with dad and his friends last night. I had the fish and chips and then a naughty bowl of ice cream for dessert.
A friend of ours died unexpectedly two days ago. I am still in shock over that. He was so vibrant and full of life. You just really never know when you are going to go . . .
So I ordered the toaster. Life is too short not to enjoy small pleasures . . . I'll take my other one to the Sally Ann.
A thought to carry with you . . .

And I do too!
Lots of toasty goodness at your house soon. Off to the library today. Snow coming Friday and Saturday amid signs of spring of birds chirping at birdhouses, spring birds returning and hopefully tuips and daffs growing under the ground.
ReplyDeleteI should get my library card I think. I have been here long enough! I saw bulbs sprouting up at my friend Glenna's the other day. It won't be long! Stay warm and safe as you are out and about! xoxo
DeleteI remember James Bulger. My son, James, was nearly the same age. I read some time ago, that his killers had been released. I don't recall if they had a rehabilitated outcome. I think one either died or was arrested for another crime. Too horrific for me.
ReplyDeleteIt was totally horrific. I know that the one has been back to prison twice for child pornography and is there now, but is due to be released soon. I think the other man got out and is still out. They should never have or be allowed out in my opinion. Sometimes the law really is an a$$. xoxo
DeleteI'm happy that you ordered that beautiful toaster! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteMary

ReplyDeleteI had to stop that too. I just couldn't. I will never comprehend what makes these people tick. Its scary. xoxo
