MY Favorite Things . . .

A few of the things in life that make my heart go pitter pat. Maybe they will do the same thing for yours. ♥♥♥    I'm pretty sure however, that these things mainly make my own heart sing.

I love, LOVE this photograph of my sister and myself.  I think I was about six years old and she was three years old.  So its a sixty year old photograph!  We clearly love each other.

I love it when I go to the grocery store and I see her car in the parking lot. It means that I will get to see her when I pop inside. Running into my sister at the grocery store is one of my favorite things. I love it when she stops off on her way home from work.  It means that I will get to spend a few extra minutes with her.  I just LOVE her.  She is one of the best things from my moving back to Canada.  She's been my best friend for 63 years plus now!

Being able to meet my dad at the Big Scoop for a Fish and Chip supper.  The fish and chips may not be as good as they were in the UK, but the company is really why I am going. Getting to spend time with my father is one of my favorite things.  Yesterday I brought him a box of cookies I had baked for him.

Being able to bake cookies for my dad is another one of my favorite things.

We are supposed to get a bad snowstorm starting on Friday.  (tomorrow)  Being safe and warm, tucked inside my own little home, while storms rage outside is one of my favorite things. Popping out this morning to get a few bits just in case.

Last night when I went to bed, I started to say my prayers, but the words would not come. Instead I was crying and could say only two words. Help me.  (Most of the time I am doing really great, but every so often, I feel broken again. Its normal.) So then I decided to watch The Chosen on my iPad. I have watched the series several times and get something different from it each time. I started with the first episode and right at the start  . . .  The words . . .

Mary Magdalen as a child going to her father in fear, and he reads to her from Isaiah and says.  You were chosen and God has not rejected you.  Fear not.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Two words, said in tears. Help me.  The answer. I have chosen you. Do not fear. Do not be dismayed. I will strengthen and help and uphold you.  I stand all amazed.

My faith is another one of my favorite things. Answers to prayer. If you are open to His presence, He will show Himself.

The light in the mid afternoon at this time of year. On a sunny day, it has a warm glow. I love it.

Mmmm . . .  cheesecake.  I have not made one in a long time now.  Mostly because my father doesn't like it.  Have you ever bought cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory at Costco?  I did when I was in the UK. Oh my goodness. It was simply wonderful.  Dangerous even.  The slices were all separated by pieces of baking paper so you could just take out as many as you needed at any given time.  Great idea.

Fairy lights  . . .  I need to put more of them up around here.  They cheer the heart.

Snowflakes. I wish I knew how to make one of these. Its beautiful . . .

Yarn.  It makes me happy. I love it.

Pockets that look like teacups. I want one.  So cute!

with a wish to fall as snow;

  2. Stay safe in the storm tomorrow, Marie. We're staying in as much as possible due to high number of Covid cases. We got our boosters and didn't suffer any ill affects, thank goodness. Take gentle care. Love and hugs, Elaine

    1. That's the plan here as well Elaine. I did go with my dad and his friend Hazel last night, but we had no contact with anyone else other than the waitress and we were all masked. I took Eileen's gifts to her today, double masked. I hate that we have to live like this. My booster is on the 11th and I hope I have no ill effects. Happy that you are boostered and not suffering! Love and hugs. Stay safe! xoxo

  5. What lovely favorite things today. I loved the photo of your sister and you. Then your thoughts on bumping into her at the store and her visits. Adding your sweet moments with your Dad was the best.
I so happy that you have these precious moments with them both. I have always wished I had a sister and then I really miss my parents and other now in the spirit world. Treasure your moments with them all.
I'm so happy you had a hug from Heaven in finding the answer. I have had some sweet experiences lately and I'm describing them as hugs from Heaven. I know even more how God is listening to prayers and we are receiving answers if we are looking for them.
Wow, I can almost taste fresh Chocolate chip Cookies. I didn't make any this time for Christmas. It's a favorite dessert.
    Blessings and hugs sweet friend!
