For the next twelve hours . . .

Just for today . . . I will try to live through this day only and not tackle my whole life problem at once. I can do something for twelve hours that would appall me if I felt that I had to keep it up for a lifetime.

Just for today . . . I will be happy. This assumes to be true what Abraham Lincoln said, "That most folks are happy as they make their minds to be."

Just for today . . . I will try to strengthen my mind. I will study. I will learn something useful. I will not be a mental loafer. I will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration.

Just for today . . . I will exercise my soul in three ways: I will do somebody a good turn, and not get found out. I will do at least two things I don't want to do . . . just for the exercise. I will not show anyone that my feelings are hurt; they may be hurt, but today I will not show it.

Just for today . . . I will be agreeable. I will look as well as I can, dress becomingly, talk low, act courteously, criticize not one bit, not find fault with anything and not try to improve or regulate anybody except myself.

Just for today . . . I will remember that language is the dress of my thoughts. Every time I speak, I will remember that my mind is on parade. I will recall that someone said, "You can always tell what kind of wheels are a man's head by the spokes that come out of his mouth."

Just for today . . . I will have a program. I may not follow it exactly but I will have it. I will save myself from two pests: hurry and indecision.

Just for today . . . I will have a quiet half hour all by myself, and relax. During this half hour, sometime, I will try to get a better perspective of my life.

Just for today . . . I will be unafraid. Especially . . .  I will not be afraid to enjoy what is beautiful, and to believe that as I give to the world, so the world will give to me.

Just for today  . . .

Cindy and I are off on a little jaunt this morning. Not far, maybe Walmart and the Dollar store. Who knows where we will find ourselves. The best part will be doing it together!  Times spent with my sister are priceless to me!  WE be making memories!

On a side note . . .

On the 17th May last month there was a digital keto cookbook offered on IG for $1.99 usd.  (See here, they are now offering it for free.) I thought to myself, that's a pretty good offer and so I purchased it, or thought I did.  I paid the $1.99 but no file arrived to download.  I got nothing. I was going to complain about it as I had bought it using my PayPal, but time got away from me, and I just never got around to it and then I thought, its only $1.99 . . .  so just chalk it up as experience and let it go . . . until last night  . . .

I woke up about midnight and went to the loo, got back in bed and thought I would check what time it was. I don't have an alarm clock, so usually just click on the iPad to see what time it is. Then I noticed on my iPad that the same people who had offered that $1.99 digital keto cookbook had taken a payment from my PayPal for $39.95usd.   I thought what the heck????

That was it, I was awake!

Apparently it was for a subscription to something.  I never signed up for any subscriptions to anything. I bought a $1.99 digital cookbook which never arrived.  I was onto PayPal messing about for about an hour trying to sort it out. All I managed to do was to cancel the subscription and be able to message the people who had taken the payment. I have not been able to contact PayPal itself to report it.  😢  They don't make it very easy to do so.  I tried every which way.  I am at a loss.

I had no idea that when I paid for that digital keto cookbook I was signing up for anything.  I think this is a huge scam and now I am worried they will keep taking money out of my PayPal until it is all gone. I am at a loss as to what to do.

And I had a really hard time falling back asleep after that. I think it was going on for 2 am before I fell back asleep. I will try to contact PayPal again today, but I am thinking that my not complaining to them initially about that $1.99 is not going to go in my favor . . .

Anyways, I will leave you with a thought for today  . . .

  2. Keep at Paypal until it is sorted. You can do it. We are having terrific thunder storms and rain today, we need rain, but the torrents coming down are a bit much.
