Something for Sunday

Make Believe, by Jim Daley

I hardly ever have enough time these days to do a proper post on Sunday mornings, so I am just going to post a picture, and then you can tell me what it makes you feel or think in the comments.  I will too.

  1. This makes me think of when I was a little girl and how all I wanted to do was be a mother and a housewife. Dreams can come true!

  2. I loved playing with dolls when I was little. My grandmother would sew beautiful little outfits for them - rust coloured corduroy overalls, pretty summery dresses, sweet knitted sweaters, even a plastic raincoat. I still have a little quilt she made. This was a baby doll whose eyes opened and shut and who said mama when you turned her over. I never had a barbie doll as they came out when I was a teenager. Hope you and Todd and Mitzie have a lovely Sunday. Hugs, Elaine

    1. I loved dolls also. I had a baby doll that my grandmother had gotten for me. She also made me a quilt for the doll. I loved it and had it for a very long time. My sister and brother sold it at a yard sale one summer when I was on a school trip along with my Barbie and all of her belongings. I was so upset! Love and hugs to you and Happy Sunday wishes! xoxo

    2. You are a very forgiving person, Marie!! My question however is: WHERE WERE YOUR PARENTS during this?? I have been rethinking things of my childhood in some areas...and I have more questions!! Strange events sometimes happen...one will always wonder WHY?? Sending hugs, Marie...Elizabeth xoxo

    3. Oh, I imagine they were at work Elizabeth! It doesn't help to hold a grudge. Most people don't mean to upset you. xoxo

  3. I have an older sister and this reminds me of how I would always trail after her and do whatever she did. We also had two younger brothers very soon, so that meant that we two sisters had a great deal of their care placed on us at an early age. We always loved babies!

    1. I used to wish I had an older sister or brother Kay! As the oldest I had a lot of responsability myself. I didn't mind too much. xoxo

  4. Hi Marie~

Oh, how I loved to play with my doll when I was a child!! My favorite doll was my, Ben Casey doll. She came with a little cast and a little set of crutches. My sister had the exact same doll, only her's had black hair and mine had blonde hair, (my mom always matched the hair color to our own ;)). I'm not sure that little girls play with dolls anymore. I have a baby doll in my toy box for the grands, and guess what, my little grandson played with the doll more than my granddaughters ever did, I love it!! I also love the painting on this post, it just looks like summer!!

    Love you tons!! XOXO

    Hugs and Love,
    Barb

  5. I really love this sweet photo. It reminds me of when we lived in Richmond, Utah. We had a little home with a white picket fence that I loved. My three little girls were 1, 3 and 5. These two precious girls in the photo reminded me of them.
    Hugs for this one!
