Friday Finds . . .

A few of the things  I find each week that pique my interest, bring me joy, inspire me to learn, create, do, become . . . Maybe they will do the same for you!

This is Susan Branch's stove. I love that stove.  It is the heart of her home.  If you would like to read about it and how much it means to her, there is a delightful blog post that you can read right HERE on her page.  Totally charming and wonderful as always.

Organised Christmas . . .  DIY Potholder Dish Towel.  These make great last minute gifts!

And here is a retro set from Angela Yoster which is a bit more practical and you can use all year round.  Complete Tutorial.

Jo and Sue, No Bake Dog Treats.  Even our furry family members deserve goodies.

Simply Noteable Dish Discs.   Great idea!

Knitted Wash Cloths. Chocolate Mints in a Jar. Free pattern.

No source. Just a chart.

Shugary Sweets. Gumdrop Fudge.  Wish we could get gumdrops over here.  All we get is hard gums, and they are too hard to chew.

You Tube Tutorial for DIY Money Trees. What a cute idea!

Hammer and Thread.  Snowmen Hot Cocoa in Jars.

Q Bees Hershey's Kisses Tree Tutorial.  Cute!

Lillelies Etsy.  Crocher Christmas Tree Garland. Not free but not expensive either.

Spina Yarn Studio. Not free, but really inexpensive, and so cute.

Clean Mama, how to keep towels soft and fluffy.

Clean Mama again, how to clean your Vacuum Cleaner.

Repeat Craft After Me.  15 minute crochet snowglobe.

Fun Loving Families.  DIY Car or Truck/tree ornaments.  Cute!

Popsicle Stick Snowman family. No source, but cute, and easy enough to do!

And those are my finds for this week. I hope you saw something of interest!

Before I go this morning, I have to tell you a little story.  I love to burn smelly candles.  I have different ones for different moods.  I always light them when I know we are having company or when we want to feel all cosy.  I had one of my tin ones lit last night.  Its called Winter Wood and smells just like a Christmas Tree Lot, but better.

One of the things I do to settle into bed each night is to watch an episode of friends on my iPad. (Todd doesn't like the show, so I save my indulgence for then).  I settled in to watch it last night and I kept getting the no-internet message.  I thought to myself, that's strange, and remembered when it happened one time before, all I had to do was reset the modem. SO I went downstairs to reset the modem, and wow.  I had Left my candle burning!  I was so grateful for the fact that my iPad wouldn't work and the prompting to go downstairs to reset the modem.  At first I wasn't going to do that, I was just going to read, but my mind kept telling me to  go downstairs and reset the modem, until finally it was shouting at me, GO DOWNSTAIRS AND RESET THE MODEM!  And so I got out of the warmth of my comfy bed, went downstairs and saw the candle still flickering away burning in the night.  Had I not gone down to check the modem I would not have known it was still lit and who knows what could have happened!

Promptings of the spirit are special things.
You need to always follow them, no matter what.
This was a miracle, and I am so grateful
I heeded the spirit's voice.

Nothing happens by accident.

A thought to carry with you . . .

  1. Hi Marie, God works in mysterious ways! Good job you listened to him! My nephew (my sisters son) phoned me last night to tell me that my sister now gets up several times a night and puts all the lights and fires on and goes back to bed. She's now started putting the electric kettle and pans of food on the hob, lighting the gas and again going back to bed. He's terrified she's going to set the house on fire. We're having a family conference on Saturday to see what we can do to help as Richard isn't coping, understandably.

Looks like a lovely Friday outside, enjoy! Lot's of love xxx

    1. Oh dear Kate. I know when I was last at my moms I was afraid that she was going to do the same thing and so I unplugged the stove every time I had to go out (electric) and shut the circut breaker that controled it off at the source. Its so hard to know what is the right thing to do. Sending extra hugs and prayers to you all at this time. ((((hugs)))) and lots of love. xoxo

  5. I do love that stove and the potholder dish towels. I like the idea of making some dog treats; our Sammy would love it.
I would love to know how to make the dish cloths and give them as gifts.
I like all the other different ideas. I think many of them would make great neighbor Christmas gifts.
I liked the one on keeping towels soft and fluffy; great idea.
I like the cute decoration ideas too.
Oh, my sweet friend, I am so happy you listened to the spirit on that one. That was a good personal story of listening to the warnings. I'm so happy all is well.
Thanks for your great posts; I love them.
    Blessings and hugs!
