A few of the things in life that make my heart go pitty pat. Maybe they will do the same thing for yours. ♥♥♥
Cast Iron Bedsteads. They have such character. Although the antique ones can be somewhat difficult to find a mattress to fit . . .
Wooden thread spools. They too have character . . . they remind me of my childhood and my mother's sewing box, which I loved.
Dressed up Teddy Bears . . . especially pretty ones . . .
Bright and airy spaces . . . they make me feel light and uplifted.
Pretty bed linens . . . especially bed linens that are trimmed with lace, and fluffy chenille bedspreads, I guess they too, remind me of my childhood, well at least the chenille bedspreds. We each had one on our bed when I was growing up.
I'm like a crow . . . I love anything that glitters . . . if it sparkles I am mesmerised . . .
Bees on literally anything . . . I adore bees. When we lived in Meaford my boys and ex used to help our landlord with his honey bees. It was a great experience for them.
Chimichangas. I think they are one of my favourite Mexican dishes. Like burritos except deep fried. So naughty but so delicious.
Broderick's Brothers Mini Bites. I picked up a couple of bags of assorted in Costco the other day, one for Doreen as a treat for her and one for us. I shouldn't have bought one for us. Dang, they are delicious! TOOOO delicious by half!
Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls . . . haven't had any in ages. Time to make some methinks . . . that reminds me of a funny story. It was way back when I was just a young newly wed. My ex used to love me to make him sweet and sour chicken balls. I used to shake the fried balls in a paper bag after I had fried them to help absorbe any excess oil. I had been frying some and one of the neighbors kids stopped by. We used to host and chaperone dances for them. (Those were the days.) He was standing in the kitchen talking to my husband and he was smoking a ciggarette which he kept ashing into the paper bag of chicken balls, thinking I suppose, that it was a bag of garbage or summat. I was so shy back then I hadn't the courage to tell him what he was doing. I just watched in dismay . . .
All things cherry. Aren't these cute???
The Duchesse of Cambridge. She is so beautiful and has such style, and I think is a really great mum and wife.
Vintage kitchen appliances, especially cookers.
Local farm markets . . . especially in the summer months when we have such abundance to choose from.
Vintage pattern illustrations . . . have always loved these . . .
Anything Jo Malone . . . the perfumes, the colognes, the creams, the packaging . . .
Baking Powder biscuits. Love baking them, love eating them even more. My mom's recipe is the best.
I actually love baking. Unfortunately I also love to eat baked goods, so I try to only do it at the weekend.
Straight pins, especially pretty ones. I have some pretty collections. Can you ever have too many pins? I think not!
Sewing thimbles, although I have never been comfortable wearing one whilst sewing. When playing monopoly, I always want the thimble, or the scottie dog. Funny that . . .
Having said that, I also love Monopoly and . . .
Scottie Dogs. Always have done,
And with that I best leave you with a thought for the day . . .

Was disappointed that England lost the semi-final game last night, but both teams played a really good game. Good luck to Croatia in the finals!
There is something really special in The English Kitchen today . . . Crystallised Rose Buds. Every year I say I am going to make some and then I don't. This year I did! Magnificent!
Have a fabulous Thursday! Don't forget along the way of your day . . .

DeleteThe last cast iron bedstead I slept in or even really have seen were in my grandmothers house. So thank you for some great memories today. She also had feather bed mattresses on them. You just literally sunk in when you went to bed. Of course there were homemade quilts to cover up with too. Hope you have a happy Thursday !
