My Favorite Things . . .

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens . . . these are some of the things in life that I enjoy, and which make me happy, inspire me, or put a smile on my face. Maybe some of them are yours too.  Let's share!

Pussy Willow, although the season for them is pretty much done now. As a child I loved to see them and pick them. Such a pretty harbinger of Spring.

Jane Austen. Are you watching Miss Austen on Prime?  Very good. It's about her sister.

Scabiosa.  Horrible name, beautiful flower.

Meringues  . . .

Roast Chicken  . . .  there is something very mother-earth about prepping a chicken for roasting. A lot of love goes into it.

Blooming Heather  . . .  so grateful that I got to see it in person. it is so beautiful.

This  . . .

Twin beds  . . .  love them.

Little white buttons  . . .

Lavender . . . Oak Cottage had it all along the back. So pretty. Humming with bees. The smell, beautiful.

A tiny house  . . .

French loaves  . . .   bakes. There used to be a French bakery in the next town over, but alas it is no more. The people retired. Their baking was exquisite.

Sunshine on my shoulders  . . . makes me happy  . . .

I tell myself this each morning  . . .

Who doesn't need a little tree of happy  . . .

A good read  . . .

Springtime cozy  . . . Stripes and flowers.

Dining al fresco  . . .

Ceramic Berry Baskets  . . .  so pretty.

Desk with a view. I would probably be so distracted I would never get anything done, lol

Sunrise  . . .  sunset.  I don't know which, but being a witness to either one is a great blessing.

Wild strawberries  . . . so sweet.

And those are my favorite things for this week. Maybe some of them were yours also.

A thought to carry with you . . .

Soft Pretzel Bites & Beer Cheese Dip

In the kitchen today, Soft Pretzel Bites & Beer Cheese Dip.  A delicious snack or appetizer.  Those soft pretzels were incredibly moreish. Golden brown and crisp on the outside, and chewy/fluffy inside. Yummy!

Hair cuts. We won't go there. Suffice it to say I want to lock myself in my house for the next 12 months and not go out.  Cindy's came out really nice.  I got a hatchet job. Not happy at all. I thought I might feel better about it this morning, but no . . .  I am grateful that hair grows. Maybe in a couple of months I can get it fixed elsewhere.

Anyways, I hope you all have a lovely day.  Whatever you get up to, stay safe, be happy and don't forget!

    1. It is literally worse than bad. A right hatchet job. I don't know how I got so lucky. If I was a pessimist I would think somebody had it in for me. Seriously. xo

  2. So sorry to hear you are so unhappy with your haircut. I’ve had that happen to me, too. My hair got very matted when I spent six weeks in hospital. I shaved it all off. It did grow back and is quite long now. Yours will grow back, too. Loved all your favourites. Enjoy your day. Love and hugs, Elaine

    1. I had the thoughts to do the same. Shave it all off, but I will just have to be patient and wait until it grows. Love and hugs dear friend, xoxo

  3. Oh dear, like you say good thing hair grows. Are you a hat person?? Not me. We started watching Miss Austin, seems good so far. A dullish day so far, but the rain has stopped, grass is so squishy from all that came down over the past 2 days. And still quite cool for mid May.

  4. So sorry Marie...esp. bad when your hair is short...no room for recut etc!! Been there. Some were like the nut put a bowl on my head and cut around it...do they think we need a hair stylist to do THAT!! Well, maybe invest in a few good hats....glad Cindy's looks nice.

  5. Oh Marie, fiddlesticks!…I’m so sorry about your haircut! But I can truly understand as I have been in your shoes (with your bad haircut)
2 or 3 times …it’s so disappointing and distressing…it’s not pleasant! It DOES grow back, yes, not very reassuring, now, I know. Each day you will feel better and each day your hair will grow a bit…be positive and know you are so loved and so special to so many…and not one of them cares a whit about your hair. Just remember you are strong, beautiful, intelligent! One can’t be all things all the time!😃 My ♥️to yours. xo, Virginia
