My Friday Finds . . .

A few of the things  I find each week that pique my interest, bring me joy, inspire me to learn, create, do, become, inspire memories . . . maybe they will do the same for you!

Every Thursday evening at 8 PM people in our country get outside and make some noise in thanks for all that our Health Care workers, and helpers nationwide are doing to help and support us during this horrible Pandemic.   We are all in shock.  No doubt about it.  But we are all also very grateful.  We go out into the garden, clap, bang on pots and pans, shout, sing, whatever.  This serves two purposes. One, it lets the NHS and everyone know how very grateful we are and two, it gives us a great opportunity to let off steam.  The emotions surrounding all of this are tremendous.  I always cry. Always. With heartfelt gratitude.  Mostly.  But there is an underlying fear, shock, anxiety, etc.  It is a real mix of feelings.

    1. I have plans to make some, but haven't gotten to it yet. I am procrastinating I guess! Elastic is impossible to find at the moment. Most of it comes from China. You take care also! xoxo

  3. It's so nice to think about gardening. My grandmother used to can everything. I tried when I was younger and had a family. There was plenty of shelves in the basement of the house to store things. Nothing tastes better. Canned food in the store cannot match the taste, but it is a lot of work and these days, I give up the better taste and buy cans in the store. It's not worth all the work for just me. The only planting I do is herbs in containers. They do taste so good and add a lot of flavor to what I cook.

    1. I used to make all of our pickles and jams, freeze vegetables, etc. I do grow herbs now, but it would be nice to be able to can my own things again. Like you, the problem is storage! xoxo

    1. Oh, I wish I had the seeds and a man who was handy in the construction way Elizabeth. He could organise the moon, but ask him to hang a picture on a wall and it is bound to be crooked and a few inches off from where you wanted it to be! lol xoxo
