Outside my window ...
The sun is fully up. It is usually light by 5 am these days. Looks to be another fine day in the offing. We have had some gorgeous dry sunny days, but now they are saying that we are going to have a shortage of water because we haven't had enough rain.
I am thinking ...
My friend Valerie will be here tomorrow with her husband Steve. Our first meeting in person, although we have been corresponding for a number of years now and their son did his mission here. Very excited to finally meet. They will only be here for half a day so it will be a short visit but sweet nonetheless.
In the kitchen ...
Cheesy Ham and Vegetable Rice. A one pan dish that is not only super simple to make and quick to get on the table, but delicious and a great use of leftovers if you have them.
On my "To Cook" list ...
Orange Rhubarb Swirl Pound Cake. This looks and sounds delish. From The Kitchen Paper.
Good to know ...
How to pain faux cement tiles on your floor. From Bright Green Door.
I am creating ...
From Artists and Illustrators . . . How to create bright water colour scenes.
Printable Alice in Wonderland Journal Cards. From Vectoria Designs on Etsy. Not free, but I have bought from her before and her stuff is good.
Step by Step Granny Square Step by Step Tutorial. From Hachi Yarns.
Two Twenty One, how to make your own fabric covered books.
From sweet tin into gift box. I have a lot of these empty tins. Now I can do something creative with them. From Inspire, Create, Recycle.
I am reading ...
The Cuckoo, by Sue Fortin Clare thinks Alice is a manipulative liar who is trying to steal her life. Alice thinks Claire is jealous of her long-lost return and place in their family. One of them is telling the truth. The other is a maniac. Two sisters. One truth.
Also called Sister, Sister
The blurb suggests that 2 sisters who are reunited after over 20 years apart have many issues to deal with. Who is paranoid and who is hiding something? Just what lengths will they go to to protect themselves and what are we about to discover
With Claire starting the book in hospital we begin to wonder whether her paranoia has tipped her over the edge. But is Alice all she seems? Is Alice trying to destroy Claire's family and take her place?
I am looking forward to ...
Scotland in June!
Dreaming about ...
Summer flowers . . .
A tree house nest . . . for the kids . . .
Stone paths . . .
Rock gardens and alpine flowers . . .
Magical stairways . . .
Something to watch ...
Life in Pieces. The life of a family told in four short skits. Love, LOVE this. I find it very entertaining.

Love this. It reminds me of the hymn we sing in church, How Firm a Foundation. Having a firm foundation makes me smile.
One of my favourite things ...
Fresh crusty bread and cold butter for spreading on it . . .
Corners of my Kingdom ...
A view of the courtyard at Ightham Mote, near Seven Oaks, Kent. One of the few remaining moted medieval Manor Houses in England.
We used to love visiting it when we lived down in Kent. It was a great way to spend a day. If it was sunny, we would just pack up some sandwiches and take off for Ightham Mote. Beautiful grounds and a peaceful setting.
