OUTSIDE MY WINDOW ...
You're not wrong. That is not outside my window. I wish it was. I have never seen a bluebird in real life. Only photographs. My internet is acting up this morning. I have restarted it and it is working for my laptop and my phone, but I cannot get my iPad to hook up. I have wasted a lot of time trying. I will work on it later. For now, you get a picture of a pretty watering can and bluebird. 😊 I know you won't mind.
I AM THINKING ...
I spent two hours talking with my stepdaughter late yesterday afternoon. My heart is filled to compassion for her. I do not think I realized what a true monster I was married to. A malignant narcissistic true psychopath. I was lucky to get away as intact as I did. This is one very horrible human being. I do not think we will ever know the true extent of his depravity.

I am so very grateful for my faith which helps me to rise above the sorrow of life and the pain of this world. I do not know where I would be without it. Yes, evil exists but so does good and I have determined to dwell in the good all the days of my life. Spring. Budding leaves. Dandelions. The sound of the peepers at night. Daffodils. Forsythia. Tulips. My two furry companions. The list goes on and on.
💕GREAT NEWS💕 on the Mac front. I went to his Vet appointment with Cindy yesterday. It is not cancer. He does have an ongoing condition which will probably always need taking care of, but he has put back on some of his weight and he is doing well. Praise God!
IN THE KITCHEN ...
I made a Hot Chicken Sandwich with the leftovers from Sunday. It was so delicious. I just love bread and gravy. I could make a meal of that and nothing else. Its simply one of my favorite things.
ON MY "TO COOK" LIST ...
Chicken Chimichangas. From Life in the Lofthouse. I love Mexican food. It is one of my favorite things.
SOMETHING I KNOW TO BE TRUE ...
Call to Me, and I will answer you,
and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’
~Jeremiah 33: 3
This cottage. There is nothing about it that I do not love. It is idyllic. At least from the outside. The chimney's. The gingerbread trim. The windows. The white flowers. The ivy. Nestled into the trees. So beautiful.

SOMETHING ELSE THAT IS NICE ...
Watching birds take baths. I used to love to watch them in the U.K. Perhaps I need to get a birdbath for here. They love it so much. The fact that it brings them such joy, brings me much joy.

I AM READING . . .
THE HEART OF WINTER, by Jonathan Evison
Through the years, the Winters have fallen in and out of lockstep, and from their haunting losses and guarded secrets, a dependable partnership has been forged. But when Ruth’s loose tooth turns out to be something much more malicious, the beautiful, reliable life they’ve created together comes to a crisis.
As Ruth struggles with her crumbling independence, Abe must learn how to take care of her while their three living children question his ability to look after his wife. And once again, the couple has to reconfigure how to be there for each other.
In this bighearted and profound portrait of a marriage, Jonathan Evison explores seventy years of big moments in subtle ways, elegantly braiding the Winters’ turbulent history with their present-day battles, showing us how the oddly paired college kids became parents, fell apart and back together, and grew into the Abe and Ruth of today.
Endlessly heartwarming and moving, The Heart of Winter is a reminder that true love lives in small, everyday moments.
I am thoroughly enjoying this. It's probably one of the best books I have read this year. Seriously good. I read a chapter every night. I am making the pleasure of reading it last as long as I can.

Enjoyed that series..One that is so hard to watch is The narrow Road to The Deep North..So graphic..atrocities of war..I love Australian series..Boy Swallows Universe was so good..Warm weather is taking its sweet time..I thought your ex only had sons must have missed that..All this probably brings back the shock of it all..Poor you tohave spent all that time with him.If we only knew. right? About many things...
ReplyDeleteNo, he had a step-daughter as well. I met her once, when I was working at the Manor. She is a lovely girl. The depth of this man's depravity knows no bounds. I am learning more and more about it. It is truly shocking. I am so grateful to be out of there. I am helping her to take him to task about what was done to her, so he can stay in prison even longer. I have his hit-book. I found it before I left the U.K. and for some reason brought it with me. This must have been the reason why. It would have been lost otherwise. xo
DeleteOh my Marie:( i'm putting two and two together:(
DeleteHis depravity knew now bounds. I cannot believe that I did not see it. Truly. Shocking.
DeleteGood morning, I’m so glad Mac is doing better, as well as all the others who have been pulling for him!…he is a popular guy. It must be very difficult going through a traumatic time again, you are very kind to help. The quote today is truly words we should all live by, thanks for the inspiration and reminder!…I’m printing it out and putting it on my mirror. Lovely photos, the best one is of your sweet sister…and oh, that sandwich! Happy day, Marie. xo, Virginia
ReplyDeleteWhat a good thing you happened to find the book that SHOULD keep him put away forever!! These (in my opinion) soul-less people who have no compunction at all about how much they hurt others, are beyond clever. We were also blindsided along with our daughter. In fact, he was by far the best in how he treated me. None of the other in-law kids ever came close either in verbal ways or in actions, as to how nice he was to me. But it is all a ruse...all part of all they do to cover their REAL ACTIONS!! It makes it hard to trust people again after such a thing. Hubby and I were also, at about the same time, taken huge advantage to by a very skilled sociopath at the least (she may have been a psychopath too as I read some of them are not physically dangerous). These sick people live for the ability to control others. Something I do not understand at all. But if they really believed what GOD says, obviously, they could not live life as they do. I will be praying that all efforts will keep your EX in prison for the rest of his life. He is old right? Hang in there, Marie...you all are not alone. Prayers appreciated as the main trial is next month for my daughter's EX and trying to get more protection for her children!!
