A few of the wow moments, or things I discover each week that tickle my fancy.  I hope that they may inspire or tickle yours too!

Now this is pure genius.  A zippered clutch created from an old book.  Isn't it a brilliant idea?  I found this on See Kate Sew.  There is a complete tutorial on how to do it with pictures and everything.  People just amaze me with their ingenuity!

Last evening we watched a brilliant film called "The Letter Writer."   It was absolutely one of the best films I have seen in a while.  There was no sex.  There was no violence.   There was no nudity.  It made us laugh and it made us cry.   It was incredibly poignant and touching.   It was entertaining.   It was inspiring.   It made me want to be a better me.   It touched me in a special way and I just know that if you are the kind of person who enjoys my blog, you will LOVE LOVE LOVE this film.  Seriously.  I got it via Amazon, but you can also watch it via Net Flix.

Watch the trailer and you will see.  I guarantee you'll want to watch it too!

armpit stains

How to get rid of yellow armpit stains on your clothing that are left there after using deodorant.   I have a few shirts which I love, but they have stains on the underarms and I am embarrassed to wear them now.  I found a great tutorial on how to get rid of them.  I am going to try this.  If it works I will be one very happy camper.
I found it on One Good Thing.  And apparently it works on colours as well.

Punch a hole in the top of a bottle of vinegar and sit the bottle in your toilet tank. In doing this you will save water, as the tank wont fill as much, the vinegar will clean your toilet AND tank on each flush, it leaves the bathroom smelling fresh and it doesn't harm any component of your toilet OR the environment when flushed.

I use white vinegar and baking soda a lot in my house.  I use it to keep my drains smelling fresh, to get off stubborn cooked on food, etc.   It's like my magic cleaner.

Get your feet ready for summer. Sounds crazy but it works! Mix 1/4c Listerine (any kind but I like the blue), 1/4c vinegar and 1/2c of warm water. Soak feet for 10 minutes and when you take them out the dead skin will practically wipe off!

A home-made foot soak for dry feet.  Just in time for wearing all of those summer sandals.
Mix 1/4 cup of  Listerine mouth wash , 1/4 cup of vinegar and 1/2  cup of warm water in a large dish pan. Soak your feet in it for 10 minutes and when you take them out the dead skin will easily come off.   They'll smell nice too I reckon!  Going to try this.  Found on Livestrong.com.

A tutorial on how to grow new roses from cuttings, simply and easily.  Found on alternative gardening.   I am going to get Todd to try this.  The only thing I am wondering is if we will also grow potatoes??  Does anyone know??

 DIY Quilted Pot Holders

Four fast quilting projects.   There is one for these cute pot holders,  and three really cute lap quilts.  I found them on a fabulous page by Coat's and Clark,  Coat's and Clark Sewing Secrets.   There is a wealth of knowledge and sewing projects on that page.  It's pretty fabulous!

I found this fabulous page called Rook No. 17.   It is chock full of lots of goodies.   Free printable's, Vintage Clip Art, Book Reviews, Cooking, Recipes, etc.   It's just a great page full stop.  "Rook No. 17 where creative ideas take wing."

How to make tiny gift boxes.   This will come in really handy I reckon!
Found on The Dapper Toad.  There have been lots of times when I have wanted a small box for a small gift.  Now I can make my own.  And I can customize them to match the gift!

Free Printable Mason Jar Alphabets.   One for each letter.  All downloadable and printable.  All free.
From The Cottage Market, an eclectic blog.  Works for me!

And there you have it, ten new things to discover for this week!  I hope that you found something which you can use here!

A thought to carry with you through today . . .
