The candy bar . . .

Once upon a time, not so long ago . . . there was a lady who worked in a high rise office building in London. Most of us are creatures of habit, and she was no different. Every day for her coffee break she went down to the cafeteria on the first floor of the building and purchased herself a delicious Kit Kat candy bar from one of the vending machines, along with a hot cup of coffee.

This particular day was no different than any other. After she had bought her bar and coffee, she found a small table in the corner and seated herself. She leaned over to search for something in her purse, and when she sat up again, she had been joined by a gentleman who had seated himself across from her at the table. A cup of coffee sat in front of him on the table, along with a doughnut . . . and he had her Kit Kat bar in his mouth. He sat there eating it with no apologies or explanation.

To say she was gobsmacked was the least of it. She sat there surprised and more than a little bit irritated, but said nothing. As quickly as possible, she drank her coffee. The more she thought about what this gentleman had done, the more irritated and angry she became. Finally she could stand it no longer and, getting up to leave, she reached over and grabbed the remnant of his doughnut and stuffed it into her mouth.

"There now! How does that feel?" she retorted . . .then she turned on her heel and stomped out of the cafeteria, marching back to her office in a real huff!

Sitting down at her desk, she opened her purse to get out a tissue. To her horror . . . there on top . . . lay her Kit Kat bar!

What is that they say???? Act in haste . . . repent in leisure??? I wonder how she enjoyed the taste of crow???

Just a funny little story here this morning folks. I am so glad that I am not a hasty person or a confrontational person! I would walk a mile to avoid confrontation of any kind. I may have grumbled a but under my breath and would have felt pretty sheepish upon discovering the candy bar in my purse . . . but at least I would have kept my mouth shut and my dignity!

It would seem that not everything is always as it appears to be . . . Happy Day everyone!

Cooking over in The English Kitchen today, some incredibly moist and delicious Herb and Lemon Roasted Chicken Breasts!
