Small and Wonderful Things . . .

"The world is fairly studded and strewn with pennies cast broadside from a generous hand. But who gets excited by a mere penny? It is dire poverty indeed when a man is so malnourished and fatigued that he won't stoop to pick up a penny. But if you cultivate a healthy poverty and simplicity, so that finding a penny will literally make your day, then, since the world is in fact planted with pennies, you have with your poverty bought a lifetime of days. It is that simple. What you see is what you get." ~Anne Dillard

A few of the small and wonderful things which bring untold joy into my life. It's the small things in life which truly mean the most. Simple abundance . . . it's the best.

I am still able to pick out three specific things I am grateful for in my prayers at the end of each day in addition to the things I am always grateful for.  I am very blessed.

Being able to watch church online while I am indisposed and also having the sacrament brought to my home by worthy Priesthood holders. These things bless my sabbath day immeasurably.

The blessing of being able to spend this time with Eileen. I am so grateful that I am here to help her through this rough patch. There is nothing like a mother's love and support. I know how much mine meant to me when I was going through rough times so I am even more grateful that I can be there for my daughter.

Tim had posted a photo of him and his new gf on his FB page on Valentines Day. I commented to him that I thought he was being very disrespectful to his wife.  I know I should have been able to just ignore it and move on, but I thought his timing was disgusting. I later removed my comment, but I noticed yesterday he had removed it, so maybe I was not the only one who said something to him about it.

I had ordered some flowers for my sister online as a thankyou and uplift a few weeks back. They were never delivered even though it was supposed to be next day delivery.  I finally got my money refunded for them. I did learn an important lesson.  Check the reviews. All the ones that I saw after were negative.  Seriously.  Blossom Flower Delivery  Don't ever use them. They are scammers. I even found a video about them! I should have done better research before I ordered from them. Just grateful I was able to get my money back.

Despite my not really being able to go anywhere, Eileen and I managed to have a nice Valentines Day.  She enjoyed her gifts from the Valentine Fairy and I was able to cook us a nice dinner from what I already had in the house.

Only five days to go and this nightmare of an experience will HOPEFULLY be over! It was particularly bad over the past few days, but I just keep telling myself, that each day passed brings me closer to it all being finished.

I prayed for and got a decent night's sleep last night. I hardly slept all Saturday night due to the stent so I was exhausted when I went to bed last night. I prayed that I would get a good night's sleep and I did.  I am really pleased about that.

Being both the perpetrator and recipient of acts of kindness.   Kindness is a gift which never stops giving.   I have received so many kindnesses in my life and happily I have also been able to give acts of kindness.  Being kind just never gets old.

My life is a mix of good and bad and everything in between. I have found that being able to find gratitude in even my hardest moments has brought even more joy into my life. I truly am blessed in all things.

Classic Rice Pudding

I made us a classic dessert at the weekend which we both really enjoyed.  Mary Berry's Classic Rice Pudding. Oh but it was lovely.  I did cut the recipe way down just for us and we polished it off with a nice dollop of jam on top.  Yummy!

hope you have a beautiful day. Stay safe and stay warm. Don't forget!
