I'm very late getting started this morning. I got up and fed the cats, then went to take my shower etc. I got a lovely packaage in the post yesterday from Elaine, which has some very beautifully wrapped gifts in it, which I will open up today, spreading them over the day. A beautiful card as well. I think our friend Paula makes the cards. She does stunning work.
Of course the gifts are beautifully wrapped. Elaine always does a very lovely job. They are a gift from the outside in. She is so talented in that way. I will really enjoy unwrapping and savoring them.
Thank you so much Elaine! I am looking forward to seeing what's inside!
I got a few cards in the post.
The first to arrive was this beautiful popup card from Monique of a lovely little cottage, with a garden gate, a flower festooned bench, rose archway and a sweet garden table an chairs complete with kittens and puppies. So sweet! Thank you so much Monique!
I got another lovely popup card from my friend Val in Colorado. This has a beautiful Tuxedo Cat with a noise maker and cupcake, some gifts, balloons, bunting, etc. So cute!
I have known Val and Steve for quite a while since my Oak Cottage Days. One of her sons did his mission in Chester area. Funny thing was we didn't know he was her son while he was there and she didn't know we were the Rayner's he was being fed by!
Thank you Val for the beautiful card!
My friends Ginny and Tom from New Hampshire sent me this lovely card from the Holy Nativity Convent just outside of Boston. It is a beautiful Lazer Engraved card in the Peacock design. So pretty. This is the Convent that Susan Branch always enjoyed visiting. Inside there were a few Susan Branch goodies, postcard, pass along cards, etc.
Ginny is my friend who knitted me the lovely tea cozy and egg cozies. She and Tom also visited me here in my wee house a couple of summers ago. It was so nice to meet in person.
Thank you so much Ginny and Tom! You made my day!
A card from my father's friend Maryann. It was so nice of her to think of me.
Plus I have had three phone calls this morning. One from my friend Jacqueline. One from my son Anthony and one from my friend Tina in the U.K. It is so nice to be remembered.
I will be seeing my sister a bit later on as well.
So far it is shaping up to be a fine day. It is hard to believe I made it to 70. I am grateful for that.
I need to get going as I have lots to do today, and I have fallen way behind! I just want you all to know I appreciate each of you very much!
I will be back tomorrow with a proper post!
