But the Most Important Event of All Happened in 1978
Eileen Patricia Ramsay Prosser was born! My oldest daughter Eileen, turns the big Four Oh today! Its hard to believe that forty years has passed since the Doctor put this beautiful baby girl in my arms. Weighing only 5 pound 6 ounces she was the tiniest baby I had ever seen, although I do know for sure there are tinier ones. I had wanted a blond haired little girl with brown eyes since I was a little girl and dreamed of becoming a mother myself. I would call her Honey. Well, I didn't call her honey, but God answered my prayers and made me the mother of a lovely little blonde haired daughter with beautiful brown eyes!
SHE IS AMAZING!
She is a Special Olympian International Champion having won two golds and a bronze representing Canada at the International Special Olympics Winter Games in Idaho back in 2009. I was privileged to be able to see her compete when my friend Lura and I traveled up to Sun Valley with our friends the MacDonalds to watch her in action.
She did me proud, but I was not surprised. I have always been proud of our Eileen, no matter what. She was an amazing little girl, filled with light and love and grew into an amazing adult, filled with light and love, with a smile that can light up a room and a generous, kind and loving heart. We talk just about every day on the iPad on Messenger and are very close, but no surprise there. We have always been close.
I had always prayed to have a daughter I could be best friends with, and that prayer was also answered in my Eileen. We are best friends. We tell each other everything, and share everything with each other. All our ups and all our downs.
Our love of all things pink and sparkly . . .
And Tiaras!
We even share the Bum Chin.
A Villeneuve family trait!
Happy Birthday Eileen!
You only turn 40 once!
I hope you have a day filled with light and love
and Happy Birthday wishes!
On my 40th Birthday I was in Ottawa staying at my ex-in-laws, in the middle the process of moving from New Brunswick to Meaford, Ontario. My SIL and I decided to go to Bingo that night and I won the Jackpot! $1000. I gave half to my SIL because we always had a deal that whoever won would split with the other. I was convinced because I had won the Jack Pot at Bingo on my 40th, I would win the lottery on my 50th as the draw date for the lottery was on my Birthday. No such luck. Not with my 60th either, but in thinking on it, I think I have already won the lottery in life. Lovely children, a wonderful family, great friends, a comfortable home, a pooch exemplar and someone really special to share it all with!
A thought to carry with you . . .

BOOK OF MORMON CORNER - Today's Reading - 2 Nephi 29:1-14
Question - What is the purpose of the Book of Mormon? Why do we have additional scriptures to the bible?
My Thoughts - Yesterday and today's readings really
made me smile with astonishment. Just because I have heard people say
almost exactly what these scriptures say. Or when people make derogatory
comments on the church's Instagram feeds that feel like they are quoted
directly from Korihor or Sherem! Each time I feel sad but it also hits
me with power that this record is a TRUE record. It is 2,616ish years
old and it is still ridiculously applicable, almost like it was kept
back for our day 😉! Satan is still up to the SAME tricks and lies!! And
every time someone says these things, these prophecies are fulfilled in
greater measure.
Also today's reading teaches us the
importance of keeping our own record as another witness to our families.
I have always been a bit rubbish at keeping a journal, but what I have found works for me is
a book where I write down these scripture learnings and others comments
each day. A gratitude list, each night I write down five things I'm
grateful for from that day, and I also carry a small note book that I
write down promptings and impressions. I'm not saying this to boast but
more to give alternative ideas to writing a journal. This is my own
manageable way of journaling. My children (and posterity) can have my
learnings, my testimonies, my promptings, my gratitudes . . . a knowledge of
our day to day life. They might end up saying "not another book! We
have no need for any more books!!". This will be my family record, my
testimony of Jesus Christ, pointing them towards Him.
Tomorrow's Reading (Day 71) - 2 Nephi 30:1-18
Question - What have you learnt from the reading today? Why do you think Nephi warns his people about self righteousness?
You can't have a birthday without cake, and so in The English Kitchen today . . . Ginger Crumb Cake with a Butter Sauce.
Have a beautiful Sabbath Day everyone. Don't forget!

Hi Marie, Happy Birthday Eileen! Hope you have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteI loved your book post from yesterday. I'm definitely going to try and read more this year (although thats something I say every year!)
I had a lovely time at the 60th party on Friday, but isn't that always the way when you don't want to go somewhere!!
Enjoy your Sunday, lot's of love xxx
Thanks Jan, the colourful ones are Jim Shore Angels. I have some of his Christmas ones also. I Love them too. Eileen is planning a pot luck supper at her apartment tonight for some of her friends to help her celebrate. She has gotten two lasagnes and garlic bread and a cake and hopefully some others will bring some goodies along. I wish I was there. I would certainly be popping in with some sort of treat. Love and hugs. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate! I am glad you enjoyed the party on Friday! I find oftimes when I make myself do things I really don't feel like doing, I DO end up having a pretty good time. You are so right! Love and hugs! xoxo
Happy birthday to your pretty and athletic daughter..what a smile:) Oh these cuties of ours sure gre up fast!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day mom!
What a wonderful way to celebrate you daughters birthday by listing all those things that happened on this day! My best of wishes too for a Happy Day for her!
ReplyDeleteGosh what a lot of researching you must have done to get all these facts and dates laid bare.....and to join them up to THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSONS BIRTHDAY ...now that shows a Mothers love. I'm a bit late but next time you chat with Eileen please tell her I hope she has had a great fun day...and that all the food has been eaten up . Do pray she gets over to visit soon. Xxx
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY EILEEN!! She is a beautiful girl, she looks just like her mama! Those big brown eyes would have melted my heart too, she is so cute. Marie, I'll bet you looked just like her when you were a baby, you can sure tell she belongs to you! We used to show slides of me when I was a little girl and my oldest daughter thought it was her! She would say, "when did I have those jammies?", and look so confused when I told her it was me. I'll bet it would be the same for you guys.
An Olympian Champion!! That is just amazing, what a wonderful opportunity for her! She looks like a champion, you can tell by that gorgeous smile! Too bad we didn't know each other then, I would have driven to Sun Valley to see you, not that far at all!!
I agree, the Book of Mormon was written for our day. Heavenly Father knew we would need a guild book didn't he?! Everything in it is so applicable to what is happening today - one more testimony builder for me as well.
I love your idea for a gratitude journal. My blog is as close to a journal that I will every have, I'm just not a good record keeper.
Hugs and Love,
Barb
Thanks Monique! Our cuties grew up way too fast, but I am so grateful that they became good people. Love and hugs! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam! I thought it would be fun for her to read! Blessings and hugs! xoxo
Thanks Sybil! She is supposed to be coming for Christmas this year! Yay! I can't wait! Love to you and Mary! xoxo
Thanks Barb! That would have been so much fun to meet in person! It was sooooo cold! Brrr! We stayed in Ketchum and were freezing. We went to bed with hand warmers all over us each night! Hugs and love! xoxo
I loved how you led up to your sweet Eileen's 40th birthday thoughts. I enjoyed reading the history and I especially loved reading about your precious Eileen. I loved the photos and I love both of your chins; so cute. I think it is so awesome that she was an Olympic champion. You should be a very proud Mom.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your thoughts on Spiritual Enlightenment. I love what you are doing with journaling, gratitude lists and etc. I have been journaling for 40 plus years but not being as consitent as I should be. I liked your ideas so you are inspiring me.
Blessings, love and hugs for you!
She has always been my Little Princess LeAnn! I was over the moon when she was born. I had always wanted a little girl. I have never been a consistent journaler, but I am a consistent blogger. I wish it was the other way around! Love and hugs and blessings to you! xoxo
