A few of the things I find each week that pique my interest and inspire
me to want to do, create, become, etc. Maybe they will also inspire
you!
From Alice and Lois. DIY Indigo Marbelled Ornaments. Very easy and very pretty. Complete tutorial.
From The Soap Queen, a complete tutorial for making your own Rose Clay Face Mask. This could be a great gift for someone.
Feathering My Nest. Make mittens from recycled sweaters. Plus there are free printable tags for gift giving.
Just Putzing. DIY flavour infused olive oils. So simple to make.
Lace Doily Pottery, from Victoria Mag. Very simple to do with air drying clay. I have always, love, LOVED Victoria Magazine.
Homemade Cookie Butter. Sign me up! How very moreish, and simple to make. From A Beautiful Mess. You will need a blender.
Make your own Sea Shell Candles. I love these. I need to find some sea shells! From Burkatron. (where do people get these names?) These are also a very simple make.

*.˛.°You either get bitter or you get better.
Its that simple. You either take
what has been dealt to you and allow
it to make you a better person,
or you allow it to tear you down.
The choice does not belong to fate,
it belongs to you.

BOOK OF MORMON CORNER - Today's reading - 2 Nephi 1:1-12
Question - What have you learnt from the reading today? What do you notice about the way Lehi teaches his family?
What I learnt - Lehi is teaching his children about
the infinite goodness of God. He is helping them to remember Him, to
keep in their remembrance His mercies despite their poor choices and
their natural afflictions on their journey (the past). He tells them of
the blessings they have received. And he shares the prophecies he
receives. He teaches them the consequences of choosing iniquity in the
promised land. And he teaches them the consequences of choosing
righteousness in the promised land (the future). I love how, from the beginning, Lehi
has taught with authority, boldness and plainness. There are no wishy
washy points. He is clear with his teachings and unashamedly so. He is
not afraid to be rejected by man (or if he is, he allows himself to
overcome that fear) and rather serves his God by teaching those truths
with unwavering faith.
Tomorrow's Reading - Day 36 - 2 Nephi 1:13-29
Question - Why do you think we need to awake? What do you do when you feel you're in a spiritual slumber?
In The English Kitchen today . . . Cheesy Cornbread Turkey Pot Pie. Delicious! You will want to give this tasty dish a go! You can also make it with leftover roast chicken.
Have a wonderful Friday. Don't forget along your space of the day . . .

ReplyDeleteOh my sweet Marie,
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy reading your thoughts on the scriptures. We are in our second time reading through since the first of October. We look forward to our 10 pages a day. I just find the Book of Mormon to be such a blessing in my life.
You had some great Friday Finds. Many of them look like some items for gifts that I could put together for neighbor and missionary families that we still see. I am going to look further into the details. I loved the recycled mittens; so creative. All of the different items in the jars for gifts were awesome.
Thank you for this one because I want to do some of them.
Sending loving thoughts and hugs your way!
