A few of my favourite things . . .
These are a few of my favourite things . . .
I love to lay in bed and listen to the rain fall on the roof. Not sure why that is, only that I do . . .
The sound of autumn leaves scampering across the pavement . . . watching them dance and twirl in the air. Sunny autumn days. The sun still has a bit of warmth but it is waning . . .
Warm blankets, cosy chairs . . . flickering firelight . . .
A good book to curl up with . . . a page turner . . .
A good film to share with each other . . . okay, so maybe I am the only one who enjoys this one, but I love the fact that he watches it with me anyways . . .
My Tea Cosy. I am still in love with it . . .may it ever be so . . .
Cookies and milk . . . milk and cookies.
Father Knows Best . . . Marcus Welby MD, in short anything Robert Young did.
Simple Jack O Lanterns . . . nothing fancy smancy. Just plain old Jack.
Hedgehogs . . . in anything . . . but this is particularly sweet . . .
Bonfires, toasting marshmallows, hotdogs . . .
Candy Apples . . .
Hot chocolate shared . . .
I know I shouldn't . . . as it is so so bad . . . Pepperoni Pizza . . .
Halloween Candy . . . dangit!
Tis true . . .
And those are a few of my favourite things for this week. What are some of yours?
A thought to carry with you . . .

A mother's love for her child
is like nothing else in the world.
It knows no laws, no pity,
it dares all things and crushes down
remorselessly
all that stands in it's path.

I hope Todd is recovered from his scan.
ReplyDeleteI have been to college today. I am late home and am eating a Chinese dish that is not on any diet dish. It has been a quiet day.
God bless you and keep you.
Suzan, sometimes the most sacred parts of the day are the moments when we are alone late at night eating something we love in the quiet. God bless you. xoxo
ReplyDeleteIt was five and far from quiet. I really can't each much in the Asian food line because of my allergies. Will was watching some violent movie. Mum was bombarding me with impossible questions. I left the room and mum followed. I came back to the kitchen and messed up stacking the dishwasher...no one had put a thing in it since I emptied it this morning. I am trying to seek quiet but it seems so far away.
ReplyDeleteBeth would like me to go to Paris and Geneva with her, for nine days, in January. It is a huge expense for me and I don't own winter clothing. I feel that if I go that far I need to stay and explore. Admittedly she would be a great escort as she has been before and speaks French. She is bringing home 32 students from an exchange. So her trip and 4 days accomodation are paid for.
Gosh I sound like a bitter soul. I still feel far from well.
God bless.
Sights, sounds, Marcus welby, you made my day!
ReplyDeleteYour welcome Local Alien! xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh dear Suzan, I am sorry your day has been far from quiet. ((((hugs)))) Why not come to Paris! If you have a coat and a few extra sweaters to wear under it, you would be fine weatherwise I think. I know it will feel extra cold from you because of where you come from but what a brilliant opportunity. Pray about it! I hope you feel better soon! xoxo
I love to lay in bed and listen to the rain too ♥
ReplyDeleteI love the rain too.
ReplyDeleteIt would cost so much for a few days. Less than 2 weeks.
Yay Summer! I think it is a thing most people love. Maybe we are just glad not to be out in it! xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh well Suzan, you are right a lot of money for just a few days. xoxo
Every one should take some time just to watch the leaves. I do love chicken and rice soup and will take a peak at your recipe. Hope your day is a blessed one!

I love hot chocolate, bon fires, hot dogs and snores; yummy! Wow, Robert Young; I haven't thought about him for years. Loved the shows he was in. This was a fun one that made me feel warm and happy!
