Friday Finds . . .
A few of the wow moments, or things I discover each week that tickle my fancy. I hope that they may inspire or tickle yours too!
I just love these do it yourself Tote Bags. They would come in so handy for all sorts, and I am thinking they would be fab to cart all of my stuff back and forth to church! There is a complete Tutorial on SweetTmakes Three.
I just adore this wall arrangement. I found it on BHG. You just got to love BHG! 1-Hour Projects. There's a few different things that only take an hour or so to do. This is my favourite one though.
Style File. There are a whole load of different projects for the garden, but this is by far my favorite, probably because it looks very easy to do. What a fab way to cool off on a hot day!
Our garden is filled with Hydrangea. We have never known quite what to do with them. So far they have thrived on neglect. We wait until the blooms are dried and then Todd cuts them all off. How to prune and when, on Eclectically Vintage. I felt her pain, even though I am sure her husband meant well. lol Don't they always?
Now this is a really nifty idea. High Heeled Cupcakes. Wouldn't they be utterly charming at a shower or for a birthday? I think they are adorable. From Living Locurto. (Monique, they have YOU written all over them!)
There are ten fabulous back to school ideas for the kiddos on The 36th Avenue. Everything from a desk organizer to a portable first aid kit, and everything in between! Superdy duperdy!!
Free Digital Papers from The Coffee Shop Blog! Downloadable and so cute. They're cherries! I love anything with cherries on it! She has a lot of other printable freebies as well.
Well, I would think the number one reason I look fat in photographs is because I AM fat, duh . . . but if I can pick up some tips on how to minimize that, I'm all for it! Found on The Haute Girl. I will have to remember this the next time someone wants to take my picture!
A DIY Tiered Herb Garden. It's a bit late for this year, but maybe next year I can get this done! I just love it. Found on Decor and the Dog. The hardest part will be finding someone who can do it for me. Todd is not a carpenter.
Birthday Party Hat Cakes from BHG. Yes, I do have a love for BHG. These are so cute and they look really easy to do. I think they would be a really big hit at any birthday celebration! Bright and colorful!
And that's it for this week! I hope you found something you like!
I was just saying to Todd yesterday how much better my thumb was. Pretty much back to normal, and then this morning I wake up and it's clicking again and sore. I don't know what I did to it during the night, but I did something. I am a but upset with my self. *grumble.*
A thought to carry with you through today . . .

its loveliness increases;
it will never pass into nothingness.

Cooking in The English Kitchen today . . . a delicious Toasted Sesame Chicken Pasta Salad! This is so good. I made it for our dinner yesterday and we both loved it!

As usual MArie a great blog full of great ideas...if only I had the reason to make some o fthese wonderful things...but just looking at them all is great...Sorry that thumb is bad this morning...hopefully as the day passes it will get better again...might have been the way you were lying on it...That Pasta salad must have been good for Tod to enjoy it !! HAve a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteMarie I am so sorry your thumb is playing up again. IT is no fun to lose the use of your hands. God bless.
ReplyDeleteThanks Suzan and Sybil! I am sure I just laid on the thumb wrong when I was sleeping. I wish I knew for sure so I could keep myself from doing it again! Maybe I need to wear a splint in bed? xx
ReplyDeleteFun finds this week, Marie! August already--how did that happen so fast?! I love bags, you know. ;o) Yup, I do. I don't make nearly as many as I used to, but I still love 'em! The hydrangeas article is timely, as I think I've been pruning ours wrongs, hence blooms only every other year. :o/ The tiered herb garden is a wonderful idea. As we've done away with our veggie patch, next year I hope to try more container gardening--especially for herbs. LOVE the cherry-filled digi papers--SWOON! So sorry your thumb still plagues you... and that it's taking so long for medical help. Hope you'll have some lasting relief soon! Wishing you all a great weekend there ((LOVE & BIG HUGS))
ReplyDeleteYou make beautiful bags Tracy. Happy to be the proud owner of more than a few! I think Container gardening is really great, except one does have to be a frequent waterer! xxoo
ReplyDeleteHappy August ! Today we're awaiting the birth of my newest grand child. They are scheduled to go in to the hospital this afternoon. It could very well be that today is a birthday! Hope you have a fantastic Friday!
ReplyDeleteGive the thumb another day..
ReplyDeleteHealing is where one needs the most patience..and when none is to be found..you dig into courage..then perseverance..then hope..then it starts again ..until one day you say..it's ok...
Hope it's soon for you..
I just pinned those photo tips and tricks..and read them last night in bed..She had great tips that could benefit anyone..
Lovely angles are lovely angles ..if you are small or not so small.Liked the way she wrote it all too..
Must get a travel stepladder:)
MA have a beautiful new baby day.
Oh Pam how very exciting! I pray and hope all goes well! xxoo
ReplyDeleteThank you Monique!! They are great photo tips! xxoo
I do hope that thumb of yours will get feeling perfect again. Does it hurt when it clicks? I hope it doesn't.
ReplyDeleteYou know your Friday Finds always make me smile. I am not good at all of the crafting things but I do love to look. I will guide my children to the Back to school ideas.
I could use a bag for my primary stuff.
I will diffidently look at the way to look thinner in photographs.
Thanks again for this fun post and big blessings for you and hugs too.
You are so lucky that you have an abundance of Hydrangeas. They don't grow well at all here in CO so I don't even bother with them but they are still my favorite flower.
ReplyDeleteI emailed the same E.H. and told her how your thumb was doing well for a while there and I told her that you are having a flare up once again. Hopefully she will try again but can't really say. Keep us posted on "thumbie." :-(
Steve and I have done the "Square Foot Garden" system. It's fun to watch each square foot of different vegetables and plants. And the great part...no weeds.
Take it easy with that thumb!
Thanks LeAnn! I don't know what it is I am doing to it when I am asleep, but I know it is something, because it is worse again this morning, and the clicking never went off yesterday. I feel rather silly being bothered about a thumb, when there are people suffering from a lot worse in the world. They should be lucky enough to only have a bad thumb. xxoo
ReplyDeleteThanks Valerie! I would quite happily just go to container gardening. It would be a lot simpler I think! xxoo
