A few of the things in life that make my heart go pitter pat. Maybe they will do the same thing for yours. ♥♥♥ I'm pretty sure however, that these things mainly make my own heart sing.
The cool side of the pillow. I think I flip my pillow over a few times a night. Tell me I'm not alone!
Vintage cherry . . . anything with cherries actually . . .
Everything Holly Hobbie. When I was a young woman I remember making Holly Hobbie Dolls for my first husband's nieces. I gave my mom Holly Hobbie plaques, which she gave back to me some years later and which then ended being left in the UK. My heart aches a bit over that . . .
Old Victorian homes. We have several in town. I wouldn't want to live in one or have to clean or pay to heat one, but that doesn't stop me from admiring them.
Vintage fashions. I have always loved looking at the clothing of bygone days. On YouTube you can watch people dressing themselves in historic clothing. I find it fascinating. As a child there was a section in our home encyclopedia devoted to this thing and it is a wonder I did not wear the print off the pages. There was an exhibit at the Victoria and Albert museum that focused on clothing through the ages. I loved it! I cannot pick a favorite era.
Aprons. I left all of those behind as well. I need to make some. One of the first things we made in Home Ec sewing class was an apron. When I got married the first time I received quite a few as shower gifts. The favorite apron I ever had was one my ex mil made me. It was red with white polka dots and had little heart shaped pockets.
Suburban art. It was a different era with lovely little homes, white picket fences, manicured gardens. The nuclear family. Happily ever after . . .
Elsa Besko. I love all of her art. It has a special sweetness to it.
I also love the art of Gary Walton. Its whimsical and unusual.
I also love LOVE the art of Valeriane LeBlond. Whimsical little worlds you wish you were a part of.
Pot pies . . . any kind at all. If its in a crust, I'm on it.
Audrey Hepburn. She had class. Something which is sadly lacking in today's world . . .
Ginger cats . . . but then, you knew that.
What you might not know is I also love Siamese cats. We had one when I was growing up called Simon. He was a seal point. I had several when I was bringing up my family. Both blue points, both called Brandy. They are incredibly intelligent cats.
Bride dolls . . . I always wanted one. Did you? I was fascinated with brides and weddings when I was a little girl.
Creating picture collages . . . I haven't made any in a while. Not enough time to play I guess! I especially love including quotes in them that make you think, and themed collages . . . I do make a recipe one pretty much every day however.
And those are my favorite things for this week. Maybe some of them were yours too? One can but hope!
I'll end with another one of my favorite things . . . a thought for the day . . .

In The English Kitchen today . . . I'm celebrating
Cinco de Mayo with a variety of Tex Mex favorites! There is a bit of something there for everyone, and even dessert!
I hope that you have a wonderful day filled with light and love. Whatever you get up to, don't forget!
