A bit of this and that . . .

No act of kindness,
no matter how small, is ever wasted.
~Aesop, The Lion and the Mouse

I do not know where I would be in life were it not for the many acts of kindness that have been scattered over me throughout the years. This year I am trying hard to focus on all of the goodness which has come my way, and there has been plenty.

Lets face it, life is hard and can be very difficult . . .  incredibly challenging, even at its very best.  There is no such thing as a charmed life. Some people have problems sharing their challenges with others.  And I get that.  Some experiences are so incredibly personal and heart felt that we don't want people to know about them, and cannot bring ourselved to share them.  Be it fear of judgement or something else entirely.

You might be incredibly surprised to find out that not all those who smile and put on a happy face have a lot to smile about. I can be a little bit like that about some things.  I'm afraid I am prone to saying all is well when I am with others, when in reality my life can sometimes feel like it is falling apart at the seams.

The answer is just to be kind. No matter what.  No matter how. No matter when. Kindness is a simple way to tell and to show another struggling soul that there is love to be found in this often seemingly cruel world, even when they cannot see it for themselves.

Please keep my sister and her family in your deepest, heartfelt and ongoing prayers. I feel like shaking my fist at the heavens and shouting, enough already. I really do.

I spent some time yesterday re-organising my Spice Corner in my kitchen.  I know, who on earth needs so many spices and herbs.  The answer would be me, of course.   I love how fresh it is looking.  I had stacking spice drawers before. I couldn't get to half of what I needed without emptying half a countertop so that I could get into the bottom drawers, and so those just never got used. Instead I would end up buying new ones that got stuffed into the cupboard above and then I would sometimes have to empty half the cupboard to find what I needed.

I used these. Spice Jar Labels.  I actually had something to do with the design of them.  I helped the company come up with the types of spices and herbs, etc. they should include on the labels.  These are fabulous labels I have to say.  You can reposition them (trust me, I have a hard time getting anything straight.) You can wipe them clean, and they are the perfect size.

I also have some great news to share on the blogging front. That blog that was stealing all my content is no more.  The hard work and efforts of my son and myself have been rewarded with it being removed from the internet completely!  I am so pleased. Of course they will probably just open another one and do it again, but I doubt that this particular person (s) will stoop to stealing my content again, especially now that they know I won't let them get away with it. It was a difficult battle and I am very happy to say this time that the good guys won.

I think these are pretty, but not sure I could handle
the sticking out bits.

My friend didn't come yesterday.  She must have gotten busy, perhaps today! We shall see!

And with that I will leave you with a thought for today  . . .

Nothing new in the kitchen today. I was too busy doing my spice storage yesterday, but I can share with you a lovely Thyme & Lemon Cake that I made a while back.  Its gorgeous to say the least.

Have a great Sunday. We'll be watching Church via Zoom, watching my RS lesson via YouTube, calling my father at some point and then watching a church musical concert this evening via Zoom as well.  Thank goodness for technology!

Don't forget!

  1. Good Sunday morning, Marie. Such good news that the blog stealing your content has been taken down. I hope they will not be allowed to create another blog. You can never go wrong by being kind. I will remember your sister and her family in my prayers. Enjoy your visit with your dad. He must look forward to your calls. Hugs and love, Elaine

    1. I sincerely hope that they won't be able to either Elaine, but I suspect they will. I doubt they will take my content again however because I didn't let them get away with it! Thanks for your prayers! Much appreciated. Love and hugs, xoxo

  4. Prayers for your sister, Marie...my heart goes out to them. There have been times in life when I have asked GOD, "Isn't our turn up YET???" It seems the challenges of life never end...especially as we age and our bodies won't cooperate. Our daughter here FINALLY got an appt soon to get our grandson into the genetic specialist. It is like pulling hen's teeth to get into them here in this country. WHY I do not know!! We are hopeful that if he is found to have a certain disorder that then others in our offspring will be able to be seen too (it seems you need to prove FIRST what you have BEFORE they will see you...our medical care here is not first class at all). Hope things go better soon for your family!! It is so hard to not be able to help much in such. Glad you have some good music to hear today...music is such comfort!!

Your comments mean the world to me, and while I may not be able to address each one individually, each one is important to me and each one counts. Thanks so much!
