Small and Wonderful Things . . .

"The world is fairly studded and strewn with pennies cast broadside from a generous hand. But who gets excited by a mere penny?...It is dire poverty indeed when a man is so malnourished and fatigued that he won't stoop to pick up a penny. But if you cultivate a healthy poverty and simplicity, so that finding a penny will literally make your day, then, since the world is in fact planted with pennies, you have with your poverty bought a lifetime of days. It is that simple. what you see is what you get." ~Anne Dillard

A few of the small and wonderful things which bring untold joy into my life. It's the small things in life which truly mean the most. Simple abundance . . . it's the best.

That smile  . . .  those dimples  . . . love, love, love  . . . Grace . . .

Sweetest donuts ever . . .  Jon, Josh and Jake . . . and I see Daddy's legs in the back holding up Josh to get him into the photo.  Good daddy.

Say cheese  . . . .

Gabe & Luke . . .  my two angels  . . .

I love that they're friends  . . .

They're growing up far too fast  . . .  far too fast . . .

She arrives tonight  . . .  maybe not my daughter by blood, but surely my daughter/friend/kindred spirit.  I can't wait to see her. I may or may not post again until after she goes back home. It all depends on how much time I have in the morning.  Maybe just to post a photo or some such.  I have recipes ready to go for each day.  It will be so nice to have Tatiana here when the weather is nice and it is not freezing cold or raining!  (Fingers crossed it stays that way!)

Yesterday for supper we had the first freshly picked corn on the cob that I have had since I moved over here to the UK.  Yesterday at church I was gifted with four beautiful cobs of corn, unhusked and freshly picked from a friends garden and they were beautiful. I enjoyed every bite.  With lots of butter and a sprinkle of salt.  It was soooo good!

An early Birthday gift . . .  two of my favourite things.  First a teacup and saucer . . .  second, blue & white china.  Two loves in one  . . .

Waking up, having had a really good night's sleep . . .  ahhh  . . .  feels so good.

And those are my small and wonderfuls for this week.  Oh, too many to count really . . . tis just the tip of the iceberg!

A thought to carry with you  . . .

In The English Kitchen today  . . .  Bacon, Egg & Creamed Spinach on Toast.  Such a simple thing, and yet so incredibly delicious!

I hope your week ahead is filled to overflowing with many small and wonderful things!

Don't forget!
