BOOK OF MORMON CORNER - Today's Reading - Omni 1:12-30
Question - What is your favourite part of today's reading?

My Thoughts I love how verses 12 and13 mirror Lehi leaving Jerusalem with his family, but also it mirrors Nephi once they got to the promised land leaving with "all those who would go with me" and they "were those who believed in the warnings and revelations of God; wherefore they did hearken unto my words". 2 Nephi 5:6. I feel like at different times in our lives we will be asked to leave what we know and travel in our own personal wilderness (symbolic of purification). It may be physically moving, it may be mentally moving, or any other sort. At conference we may hear something that will require us to adjust ourselves so we are aligned with God. But we know from the scriptures that if we do so we will be "led by the power of His arm", and as we continue to keep His commandments we "shall be saved". I also loved verse 14 where there was great rejoicing because they had brought the scriptures with them. And also verse 30 tells us "these plates are full", I know he probably meant that literally but when I read it I thought . . . YES!! yes they are!! Full of goodness, full of inspiration and direction, full of warnings and counsel. I have really loved these small books and can see there is value to be gleaned when you look at them in small chunks.

Tomorrow's reading (Day 92) -  Words of Mormon 1:1-18
Question How do you distinguish between a false prophet and a holy Prophet? Why do we sometimes have to labour with our might so we can have peace?

In the kitchen today, Crustless Salmon Pie with a Lemon Butter Sauce. Scrumptious!

Have a fab Friday!  Don't forget!

  1. Cute crochet things Marie. I esp like the lip balm with a key chain.

The eye brow chart is handy too. It reminded me recently when I watched my Granddaughter Lex get her eye brows done. Ouch! I think I'll keep plucking mine. Lol.

Love and big hugs to both of you!xo

  2. Hi, Marie! Happy February! February already.. LOVE the tea cozies! Though I don't have many, I do have a weakness for a tea cozy--crocheted or knittied ones especially. Those baby cardis are sooo sweet...*sigh*... I like your felt heart brooch idea--that would be very easy to do! How lovely is that envelope needle case?! Looks like it has ribbon embroidery on it. I used to do that! Should revisit... I have eyebrow issues too. Mine seem to be going grey and disappearing suddenly, and using an eyebrow pencil to enhance waht's left... AGE... *grumble-grumble*... ;) i'M Ooo...your salmon pie looks good! With Lent coming up, that will be a nice Fish Friday idea! Wishing you all there a lovely weekend now! :))) LOVE YOU HEAPS!! ((LOVE & BIG HUGS))

I have never plucked, I have just never had many at all. I think it is the native in me. The Salmon dish is lovely one! I think you will enjoy! Love you heaps also. Love and hugs to all of you! xoxo

  5. Hi Marie!

Oh my goodness, it's been a long time since I've been at my computer!! I've missed you!

I love your, Friday Finds, and what great finds you have today. I love all things crochet, so they all excited me, especially the cute little bibs. I have a niece who will be having a baby, so I need to get busy with some crocheting projects for her. I also loved the felt hearts. It's hard to believe that, Valentines Day is in just a few weeks!

I too loved the eyebrow chart, my eyebrows get out of control very quickly if I don't pluck them regularly. Sometimes when I get my hair cut, I will have my beautician wax them, but only about every 6 months or so.

I have to agree with you on those small books in the Book of Mormon, they are full of good things! There comes a time in everyone's life that they have to venture out on their own. And you are right, it can be mentally, or physically, sometimes they are the same thing. I have had to do some of that recently, and it's hard...I've had to rely on the Lord many times to get me through. Great counsel from Omni!

So good to be back online!

    Hugs and Love,
    Barb
