Friday Finds . . .

 photo FridayFinds_zpsb214ccd8.jpg

A few of the  things I find each week that tickle my fancy, that I hope will also tickle yours.   Can you believe that  Christmas is two weeks from today???   I know!  It's crazy!  You know what today's finds will be don't you!

It's Christmas stuff!

A step by step tutorial on making English Toffee.  I may make some for the Missionaries.   Found on Pebbles and Pigtails.

The sweetest little Christmas post card.  I think if you click on it, it will get larger.   I hope anyways.   This is so cute.  No source.

From JooJoo, the most adorable little snails, made from air drying clay.  Probably painted with acrylics.

Super simple Santa Cookies.  Aren't they cute!  From Crazy Little Projects.

Christmas Star Sandwiches.   A novel idea.   Great appies perhaps?   For the kids?  From In The Playroom.  They use cheese spread.

From Cottage At the Crossroads, just the cutest Gingerbread man wreath don't you think?

From One Perfect Day, the cutest easier Christmas garland ever.  You use cupcake wrappers!  I can do that!   So sweet!

Scrabble Tiles Ornaments, made from old scrabble tiles or new ones that you can buy at craft shops.  Unique and cute.   From Dimples and Tangles.  People are just so very inventive don't you think?

No Source, but what a unique idea and so simple.   Wine glass candle holder.   Upturned wine glass with a Christmas Bauble beneath, and a burlap bowl.  So sweet and so simple!

Wine Glass Snow Globe.  (A great use for those mismatched glasses you have, or you can buy cheap ones at the shops)  There are also 10 other tutorials for other ideas on this page.  Found on Pretty Designs.

Patchwork Christmas Pillow from Nana and Company.  Sew sweet!  (Every pun intended!)

Free Christmas Printables from I Heart Naptime.

And that is it for this week I guess.    My arm is still really hurting, although I did sleep a bit better last night.  I saw the Nurse Practitioner at the Doctors yesterday.  She gave me some tablets, but I am a bit afraid to take them.  I did take them yesterday, but I made the mistake of reading the insert and it said that taking them could cause a major heart attack.   Well . . .  I am a bit of a hypochondriac anyways.   Heart attacks are a real fear of mine.  I've been living in fear of them since we watched my mother's boyfriend Rudy die from one right in front of our faces about 17 or 18 years ago now, I guess it was.  He just keeled over and that was that.  Dead as dead can be.  The thought of taking a drug that could cause me to have a major heart attack is really fearsome to me.  I am not sure what to do.   My arm really hurts, but I don't want to have a heart attack.  What to do . . .  what to do  . . . The drug is called Naproxen.  500mg tablets.

A thought to carry with you through today  . . .

  1. I'm so sorry that your arm is still so painful. I think I would be a bit worried about taking those pills as well...why don't you go back to the chemist and ask his advice. They are always advising us to use our chemists more, after all they actually train for a year longer than some Drs. To qualify. Perhaps he could advise some over the counter painkiller that would be better...anything is worth asking for.......Asapways thank you on a Friday for all the great ideas you find...I think that cake cup idea is fab. Take care and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers xxxx

  2. Marie I understand your fear. The drug you have been prescribed is an anti-inflamatory and is available over the counter here. I do take an anti-inflamatory but not this one. If you are not happy go back and seek further assistance.

Love the things you have shared today. Beth has announced it is time for me to drive her to the nursing home to see dad as she flies to Finland in 14 hours time.

    God bless.

  4. Goodness, Marie... these tablets--that could potentially cause a heart attack!! Is there nothing else they could give you for this pain. If in doubt--or fear!--don't take... Surely there must be something else you can try. Check with your doctor/nurse again... Another Friday closer to Christmas! ;o) LOVE that little snail...too cute!! And so is the cupcake wrapper garland--brilliant idea! Those wine glass snow globes are wonderful... I can see a village of those on along a mantlepiece! :) Hope very much you are feeling better soon, and find a different medication to help! LOVE YOU!! ((LOVE & BIG HUGS))

  5. Sybil, I did as you suggested and called the Pharmacist and spoke to him. He says that this pill I have been given won't cause heart attacks, that it is another brand. Whew! He did say however it can damage your kidneys if taken long term, so I will use it sparingly as I am already on two medications that can damage my kidneys! Thank you so much for suggesting I call him. I feel a lot better about it now! xoxo

Thanks Suzan! I hope you have a nice visit with your dad! xoxo

  7. I wrote on your other blog:)
Now I see it is Naproxen..we always have those here.
    I would not worry.
It's like Aleve in the states..it's an anti-inflammatory.
I have taken them..along w/ TYlenol and such..I find these otc medications a lot less scary than presc.
always in moderation..and yes I guess it depends on the person.

  8. It does get scary when we read about side effects of medications, but right now it sounds as if you need this one. Glad your pharmacist reassured you. Hope you are better soon. I loved all the ideas in your post today. It's wonderful to see all the unique things to make

  9. Thanks Monique! I should never google anything. I always do myself more harm by googling things than if I just went ahead blissfully unaware! I have heard of Aleve! xoxo

Thanks Pam! I am glad you liked what I shared! xoxo

  11. As always dear friend you always come up with the best finds. I always enjoy checking out some of the links. Your Christmas ones are awesome. Thanks for sharing it all!
I am sorry to hear about your arm. I don't know what to say about the medication. It is an anti inflammatory medication that will help; but I do understand the fear of taking it.
Prayers, Blessings and hugs for you!
