Another update . . .

Well I spent most of the day and evening in the hospital yesterday waiting. They took me in for the procedure about 6, I guess it was.  They put me to sleep only to discover that the kidney stone is too far up and thy were unable to blast it.  They put in a stent and I have to go back in three to six weeks to see if they can try again. Hopefully it will have moved down by then.  So that is where I am at now.

I am disappointed for sure, but they did their best. I remain hopeful!  This too shall pass. No pun intended.

I will try to get back with a normal post tomorrow.  Doug is still here but I think he and Jon are leaving to go back to the Island today.

In the meantime . . .

Don't forget!

  2. Oh dear, another 6 weeks of waiting, hoping you can tolerate the pain. Such a shame you didn't get to visit with Doug and grandson, but it was so good he was there to support you. Take care, do the best you can.

  3. That is downright cruel to make people wait forever in the hospital when they are in pain!! But it happened to my hubby too when he went in with his broken leg....we were at hospital from about 8 PM until 6 AM...completely insane. Even vets are better caring for their patients...but then as my vet employer once told me, they are INDEED the better docs...too bad we cannot go to them!!! I hope all they are doing will help...and the stone they remove should be tested to see if they can tell WHY you keep getting them so as to avoid more. At the least eat an apple a day...or take malic acid pills. It does help soften the stones so they can pass easier. I feel the digestive pills we take before meals probably helps even in such too. Hubby has had that issue some years ago before we started taking the malic acid pills. We buy them on Amazon. Take care...drink lots of water and rest!! So sorry this messed up your visit with your son and grandson!! But glad at least they were with you and you were not alone.
    HUGS, Elizabeth xoxo

  4. I'm so sorry, Marie. Were they at least able to do something to relieve the pain?
