Christmas 2015 recap
Just a quick catch up this morning on all that has been going on in the Rayner household! We have had a very busy couple of days (just like all of us) and today I will be cooking our "At Home" Christmas dinner as yesterday we were out and about. I cooked a turkey for Doreen on Christmas Eve and sent it over to her. She had been going to go to her son's for Christmas Day but changed her mind as she wasn't feeling very good. I knew we would not be at home but I didn't want her and Billy to go without a Christmas lunch and so I thought she would enjoy some turkey. Billy only had to cook some vegetables to go along with it. I am fairly confident he could handle that.
We, of course, spent the day with these lovely youngsters . . . .
Elder Johansen got a goofy hat from his kids that he was wearing . . .
Sister Johansen loved the apron I gave her. She is always cooking for the kids, even though she says she doesn't like cooking . . . .
Elder Rayner was rockin' his new Christmas tie . . .
The youngsters were loving just sitting around, eating, watching the telly (only certain things allowed) that they are not normally allowed to watch and getting to skype with their families back home . . .
I was rockin' the first selfie of myself that I don't utterly despise, lol . . .
I need to get a fringe I think . . .
These two sweetie pies were enjoying new toys and jimjams around the Christmas tree . . .
The annual sock, jimjam and tree pic from Bruce and Sara . . .
And . . . we have a new family member . . .
Meet Lucy . . . a beautiful little springer spaniel Pup, a younger sister for Baxter.
Isn't she just adorable? She reminds me a lot of Mitzie when Mitzie was the same age . . .
Clearly cuteness runs in our family. Oh . . . she was such a little cutie pie, and she still is. She is loving having Tatiana here.
And that is pretty much what's been happening around here! It's been all go!
I hope you have all had a lovely Christmas!
Our day was capped off with the Call The Midwife Christmas special. No spoilers here, but it's just lovely. You'll see . . .
I've been missing you!
There is a delicious Turkey and Stuffing Casserole in the English Kitchen today . . .
Have a fabulous Boxing Day. Wherever you go and whatever you get up to stay safe and warm, and don't forget . . .

Good morning Marie. Your Christmas seems to have been very full indeed and a heap of fun. Ours was so quiet. Enjoy today as well. It sounds busy too.
ReplyDeleteBoxing day has been super quiet. I drove Pip to the sales and that is it. At 4.30pm I found out I missed the Canadian Ice Skating (grrrrrrr as it is rarely shown here) and the cricket. We finally ate a real meal tonight. There was no big dinner here yesterday as it was mum and me.
God bless.
Oh, I do love to watch the ice skating also Suzan. I can only ever rarely find it on here as well. I loved to watch it with my mum. You are right full on today as well! Love and hugs. xoxo
ReplyDeleteMorning dearest Marie, I'm so pleased you had a good day yesterday. I hope that your resting a bit today, it can be so tiring all the partying ....my day went well.....in the end !! I was up 5.45 got the 8 LB. Chicken/ hen !! Ready for the oven put it in a cook in bag into the oven to switch on around 8.45 dinner was 1 ok.....during the second hymn at church I suddenly realised....yes....I'd forgotten to light the oven.!!!
ReplyDeleteOnce I got home I dashed in leaving poor old Mary to get herself in ....lit the oven called Mitch to say Peter would still come for him at 12 but dinner would be delayed till 2 ish ! Also called Peter to warn him not to do the roasties till 2.15 ! That was not the end though as we sat down to a delicious dinner I kept thinking something was missing....yes, I'd forgotten the parsnips, and the sausage stuffing which was still in the oven....cor what am I likeLOL....ah well all the more for us today....take care, hope the shingles pain is a bit easier ?
It all sounds like you are having a wonderful time. I'm so thankful you are feeling better and can enjoy it. I'm cooking some today to have things to take to our family gathering tomorrow. Christmas isn't over just yet.

I have to thank you too as I made some of yur cranberry white choco muffins for Xmas morn..DELICIOUS and PRETTY.
Guess what?
NO POWER Christmas eve from 2pm till 4 AM Christmas morn!
Frédérick managed a 4 star meal w/ BBQ toaster oven and his gas stovetop..Duck..lamb,,veal..he never sat down:( No Christmas lights..streets as dark as doom..
Different. But they made it work..we made our own power♥
That pupppy:) And the kidlets.:)
Have a great day!
Oh how I hAve loved reading about all your Christmas's.
ReplyDeleteSybil, it owuld not be Christmas unless there was a bit of a disaster with the meal. I cooked ours today and it was a swede that would not soften! I cooked it almost as long as the turkey (No kidding!) and there were still hard bits. I hate it when you get a swede like that! xoxo
Pam, you are so blessed to have these special times with your family! I know you know this! xoxo
Monique, my favourite food memory is of cooking Chinese food for the family out on the barbeque in a snow storm because we had lost the power. Memory making meals are those! It all sounds very lovely. Your Frederick is a Prince to be able to pull a rabbit out of the hat like a 4 star meal! Kudos to him! I am impressed! So happy you all enjoyed the muffins also! xoxo
PS - Yes Tatiana is from Greece, and Greece is on my bucket list, come hell or high water! xoxo
ReplyDeleteStop with the potty mouth:) LOL..I am kidding of course..yes Greece..white rooftops..blue skies and water:)
ReplyDeleteMama Mia..The sisterhood of the traveling pants etc:)
Oh yes, and Haley Mills in The Moonspinners! oxox
ReplyDeleteI had forgotten that one..I loved Haley.
ReplyDeleteMe too, I wanted to be her! Xo
