My Friday Finds . . .

A few of the things  I find each week that pique my interest, bring me joy, inspire me to learn, create, do, become . . . Maybe they will do the same for you!

Easy Ripple Tea Cosy from Justjen Knits.  I love this.  It is so colourful, the little heart buttons . . . sigh . . . a free pattern.

Patriotic Bunting!  Red, White & Blue. From Lion Brand. You need to register, but no problem.  Registering gives you access to all sorts.  You could do this in any colours.

Crafty Caroline Creates, no cut magnetic box. Free tutorial.

This Lovely Life.  Crochet Baby Moccasins.  Not sure about having beads on anything for a baby, but they would still be cute without them,or you could do a crochet tie in different colours.  I just wouldn't put beads on anything for a baby because of the choking hazard.

Not on the High Street.  Tea Pot or Cup necklace.  So cute. Not free.  Kinda costly, but so cute!

Craft Passion.  YoYo Puffs.  Join them together to make a blanket or cushion cover, etc.  Free pattern.  A great scrap buster.

Clean Mama.net, the one task that will keep your home clutter-free.  It is simple really.  Take it out. Put it away.

Buzz Feed, 29 brilliant scone recipes.  I love scones.

Clean Mama, how to clean make-up brushes.

How to make paper Envelopes.  From The Crafty Blog Stalker.

Crafting with Joanie.  How to make any size envelope, the easy way.

Where to find Pen Pals.  The Reading Residance.  I love penpals.

Whatever Bright Things.  Ten snail mail essentials, plus a printable.

Get Away Today, Harry Potter Sorting Hat Printable.

Ways that chickens can help out in the garden.

Lost Arts Kitchen, rendering fats at home.

The Frugal Chicken.  Homesteading Hacks.

Free Printable Vintage Labels, from World Label. Plus a whole lot more.

A Beautiful Mess.  Make your own fabric covered suitcases.

Baby Socks Christmas Ornaments.  It's never too early. From Cutesy Crafts.

And those are my finds for this week.  I hope you found something of interest here.

A thought to carry with you . . .

BOOK OF MORMON CORNER

Today's Reading - Alma 1:1-14
Question What have you learnt from the reading today? What can we learn from Gideons testimony?

Thoughts - Something that stood out to me today was this idea of natural man philosophy, it's easy to hear because it requires nothing of us. The people listened to Nehor, believed him, supported him and gave him money. But what was the fruits of his philosophy? Contention, anger, conflict and killing someone with opposing views. Gideon is a great example of someone who was confident in his testimony and clearly had the Spirit with him, for how could he admonish and withstand opposition if he didn't have the Spirit? For we know it is the Spirit which gives us the very words to say.

"priestcrafts are that men preach and set themselves up for a light unto the world, that they may get gain and praise of the world; but they seek not the welfare of Zion." 2 Nephi 26:29

Tomorrow's Reading (Day 137) -  Alma 1:15-33
Question - What positive behaviours do the children of God have towards others? What warnings do you notice in these verses?

In the kitchen today  . . . Ham, Cheese & Egg Breakfast Roll Ups.

Please could you keep my mum and sisters in your prayers today??  She fell down the stairs yesterday.  Thankfully my sister was there and could take her to the hospital (She was just getting ready to go to work.  She has a small job that she does for about 15 hours a week.  Its her only income.)   When I talked to Cindy last night, she was still in hospital, but as far as they could tell she hadn't broken anything. (Praise God)  They were keeping her in yesterday for observation and they weren't sure if it was a heart episode which had caused the fall.  She was just walking from the bathroom to the kitchen.  Its a mystery how on earth she managed to fall down the stairs, other than the fact that she had to walk by them.  My sister has bought a baby gate and put it at the top of the stairs.  I don't know if they have kept her in overnight or not, and have heard nothing more, so am hoping all is well.  Thanks!

Don't forget!

  1. Hi there, Marie! Good to catch up with you... and so many treats here today! That is an unusual teacozy, and love it's teapot button on top too, and the heart buttons too. What FUN idea that puffy crochet yo-yo blanket! Looks like that would take a while to make--an all year project, maybe?! And I like hose envelope ideas. Ooo...love the Harry Potter origami game--just love Harry Potter! Your breakfast rolls ups look sooo delicious--gotta try those! Always looking for new breakfast ideas for the weekend, and new egg ideas too. Prayers for Mom and that she will be OK, and can go home too! Let us know how she gets on... Prayers to you too, while you "worry and wait"... LOVE YOU LOTS, dear friend ((BIG HUGS))

  3. Having a pen pall is wonderful. I used to have a couple when I was younger. That could be why I love blogging so much. It's like having many pals that live in many different places. Will be praying all is well with your mom and sisters. Falls are scary but glad she didn't break anything.

  4. Hi Marie~

Oh dear, a fall is such a scary thing. You will all be in my prayers.

So many wonderful finds today! I love the idea of, pen pals, and have considered finding pen pals for my activity day girls. Writing letters to each other seems like a lost art.

When I was a teenager, I spent a summer in SLC with my aunt, babysitting her children. I used to go through magazines and find fun pictures to make envelopes out of...thats how I kept in touch with friends in Idaho!

Its so easy for us to be - the natural man. I feel like that's the reason, Heavenly Father needs us to pray, to continually seek His counsel. How lucky we are to have a loving Father!

Take care sweet friend, sending prayers your way. XOXOXO

    Gentle Hugs and Love,
    Barb
