BOOK OF MORMON CORNER - Today's Reading - 2 Nephi 18:1-22
Question - What have you learnt from the reading today?

My Thoughts -The first passage that stuck out to me in today’s reading was “Sanctify the Lord of Hosts himself, and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread”. I think “fear” and “dread” here mean that we ought to reverence and respect God above all others. This means we would care more about what God thinks of us, than what others think, and also I think it means we would hold sacred the things that come from God. “I will wait upon the Lord, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him”  I think this is an expression of faith. Isaiah is saying that although God’s hand and favour is not apparent right now in the affairs of his country, he trusts that he is there and he will continue in the right course none the less. We are often called upon to do the same in our lives, continuing in the course of the gospel patiently, even when we struggle to see the hand of God in what we are going through. I’m sure that in most cases it probably isn’t God that we are waiting for, but for ourselves grow in understanding and in our ability to see.

Tomorrow's Reading (Day 57) - 2 Nephi 19:1-20:11
Question - What have you learnt from the reading today? How do you combat pride, errant leaders, wickedness and neglecting the poor & needy?

In The English Kitchen today  . . .  Dutch Almond Cookies.  Scrumptious!

I hope you have a wonderful Friday.  Whatever you get up to don't forget!

  1. Hi Marie, lovely finds, that cushion is so cute!

Nothing planned for the next few days except for a bit of shopping, thank goodness. Sometimes I think I'm going to meet myself coming back!! We're off to London next week for a few days as its Christians birthday on the 21st. (I think there should be some kind of a law forbidding any babies to be born the week before Christmas!!! 😂😂😂)
I wouldnt mind but another step-grandchild is due on the 17th!!! My husband Johns son, Ian and his partner Nat, are having their first baby together. He already has a son with his ex wife. Johns other son Jay has two little ones now, a boy and a girl. John adored children and would of loved to watch them all grow up. Sadly it wasn't to be.

Have a wonderful Friday, lot's of love xxx

P.S. Have you sorted out your BP machine?

  2. Hi, Marie! Wow is it Friday again, already??! NICE jeans apron--great idea! How CUTE is that prayer box--love that idea too! Funnily enough I'm using that Granny Star ornament pattern right now! I'm thinking of making a winter garland. As always--lots of goodies today! :))) Wishing you all a happy weekend ahead! LOVE YOU ALL SOOO MUCH ((BIG HUGS)) P.S. Talking about baking soda at my blog earlier this week. It's not easy to get baking soda/bicarb in larger quantities here either--just the tiny 1/2 cup packets at supermarkets mostly. But I lately found a Norway-based online health food shop, and they sell baking soda in 200g pouches--most I've seen so far. Will try ordering. Have you tried looking online--a UK-basked online health shop might have something?!

  5. Hi Marie~

I always love your, Friday Finds...they make my heart smile.

I always think I should save old denim jeans, and I have in the past, but I always give them away...not anymore...;0)

That crab dip looks scrumptious! We really can't get good crab here in Idaho, I guess we are just too far from the ocean, but, I love crab. I'll bet the canned crab would work, but it's just not the same. I may need to try it, just to be sure.

So many cute crochet and sewing projects today. My hands are tired from crocheting tonight, but I love it, it's a good kind of tired.

I've heard of, Angel Pillow cookies, they look delightful! I'm always looking for something sweet for the holidays.

Very fun finds today, Marie. I wish I could be as crafty as some of those amazing bloggers, they make it look so easy... ;0) I will have to work on that!

Your thoughts today on the scriptures were so good. We really only need to be concerned about what, God thinks of us. That is the most important thing.

    Hugs and Love to you,
    Barb

  6. Thanks Kate! I hope you have a lovely week in London! There is so much going on this time of year! A blessing for us in a wierd sort of way has been our car breaking down. Now we can opt out of the madness and just be zen at home without any of the hassle outside our doorway! There are drawbacks of course, but for the most part we now have a great excuse to not leave the house, lol. I have not been able to sort out my BP machine yet. But I hope to soon! Love and hugs. xoxo

Thanks Tracy! I will try online to see if I can get it in larger quantities! I never thought of that. I use baking soda a lot. It is the best drain freshener! Love and hugs. xoxo

Oh Pam! I am so happy you are enjoying a Pannettone! Yay! Its sooo good! I have not been to Aldi yet this Christmas. I need to go! Blessings to you! xoxo

Thanks Monique! I love that little girl! She speaks to my paper doll loving self! Love and hugs! xoxo

Hugs and love to you Barb. I hope things are feeling better this week after the really difficult week you had last week. Sending you extra love and prayers. xoxo

  7. I've been looking for a hot crab dip to try for a long time Marie, so thanks for posting this one!
I tried one that a coworker brought to work at one time that was really good. She gave me the recipe and it didn't taste like hers, so I'm sure she left something out. I brought it to a family gathering before tasting it and nobody liked it including me. It was a waste of time and ingredients.

Those angel pillow cookies look good too and so don't your Dutch almond cookies too!

    Love and big hugs!xoxo
