The Simple Woman's Daybook . . .
FOR TODAY, January 12th, 2016
Outside my window ...
It's cold. It's dark. It's raining. Blah. We travelled almost all the way to Angelsey yesterday in the car and we saw loads of fields next to the motorway which have been flooded. Scary stuff.
I am thinking ...
I am thankful for ...
Everything. I know that there, but for the Grace of God, go I.
In the Kitchen ...
Spatch Cock Roasted Chicken.
Delicious, moist, and cooks in half the time that it takes to cook a whole bird.
On my "To Cook" list ...
Raspberry Chicken from The Loft House. This looks fabulous. We love chicken. Especially when it tastes fabulous.
I am creating ...

I am reading ...
Lineage of Grace, by Francine Rivers
In this compilation of the five books in the best-selling Lineage of Grace series by Francine Rivers, we meet the five women whom God chose—Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba, and Mary. Each was faced with extraordinary—even scandalous—challenges. Each took great personal risk to fulfill her calling. Each was destined to play a key role in the lineage of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the World.
I am now on Rahab. I love these types of books and I love Francine Rivers as an author. Scarlet Thread is one of my all time favourite books of hers.
Looking Forward to ...
District Meeting this morning. It will be our last as a District with the missionaries we have now. I am fairly certain we will have some transfers next week. New missionaries will be coming in then. Exciting stuff.
I am learning ...
Missionary work is fun,but you also need to keep it's main goal as your focus which is to bring others to Christ.
Dreaming about ...

And I do too!
Honey bunch, today my soul craves a teensy, tiny, white cottage. I want to retreat and craft away. But I know it would not be tidy and the pretty curtains would not be ironed. It has been a horrible day. I love all the things you have shared today.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I'll make dinner this AM and then craft..paint and stitch I guess..
ReplyDeletelovely little post and so true..the saying:)
The ♥ garland is so pretty!
Oh, wouldn't a teensy tiny white cottage speak to the canoodler in all of us Suzan! I wish! I reckon heaven must be filled with tensy, tiny, white cottages! (that clean themselves, lol) xoxo
ReplyDeleteI thought you would like the garland Monique! ♥♥♥ I am going to do one . . . one of these days! xoxo
Sorry I'm later today I was busy this morning after I had called my friend Joy ( Marie can I please ask you for extra prayers for Joy she is not feeling so good after her 4th bout of chemo ) ....just love the hearts your making, how talented you are....also thanks for the tip about the chicken I had often thought of trying to do spatchcock but wasn't sure how to start...now I know I will definitely be doing that next week...we love chicken and it gets a bit boring at times as Peter is a bit of a stick in the mud and dosnt like any kind of sauce or dressing on his food...but I'm sure he would be ok,with the spatchcock way........more for him to eat LOL....he was home early tonight had to go to the Dr. He has had a sore knee for a while now but today it was so bad he had to go to Dr, I am taking him for an X-ray first thing tomorrow and then he has a blood test on Thursday !, mind you he is a right....baby...where pain is concerned.....bless him xxxhope you have had a good day xxx
ReplyDeletehopped over to see you from, Marsh's blog, at, Keeping Focused. What a breath of fresh air! I love all of your pretty ideas and can't wait to try some of them. Missionary work is such a blessing. My husband and I were missionaries at a local Humanitarian center in our city, run by the church. It was an amazing experience! Thank you for sharing your inspiration with us!
ReplyDeleteMarie, you might like this. I was at a Christian craft group and I said there might be as many heavens as there were people in heaven. I meant that we are all so different and I am sure God would love to see each of us at our very best. The ladies there thought we would be singing praises all the time. I don't know. All I know is that God has given me a brain and imagination and perhaps we will all praise him in our way.
ReplyDeleteDucking in case I have offended someone.
Most men are right babies where pain is concerned Think "Man cold" haha. God bless him. I hope it isn't anything too serious and I will be saying extra prayers for Joy as well. Hope you do give the chicken a try. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI was lucky enough to visit the humanitarian centre in SLC a number of years back Barb! It was an inspiring and amazing experience! You must have truly enjoyed your experience working as missionaries in yours! I would love that! God bless you! xoxo
Suzan, no worries. I think sitting around in heaven playing a harp and singing praises all day 24/7 would be quite boring. What is our intelligence for if not to continue to grow and expand our understanding of things, talents, etc. I think in heaven we will continue to learn and draw even closer to our Heavenly Father, and to become even more like Him. I could be wrong of course, and often am! xoxo
I really enjoy reading your post. Thanks for sharing this lovely things.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Billy. xo
