Small and wonderful things . . .
"The world is fairly studded and strewn with pennies cast broadside from a generous hand. But who gets excited by a mere penny?...It is dire poverty indeed when a man is so malnourished and fatigued that he won't stoop to pick up a penny. But if you cultivate a healthy poverty and simplicity, so that finding a penny will literally make your day, then, since the world is in fact planted with pennies, you have with your poverty bought a lifetime of days. It is that simple. what you see is what you get." ~Anne Dillard
A few of the small and wonderful things which bring untold joy into my life. It's the small things in life which truly mean the most. Simple abundance . . . it's the best.

Butterfly tea sandwiches. Such a simple thing . . . such an elegant approach. I am remembering this the next time I have a tea party.
That reminds me of the time I had a tea party for the missionary sisters. I need to do that again before Sister Wagner goes home.
Building memories and sharing my life with this wonderful man God gave me. Waking up to find three simple little words in my FB message box . . . "I love you" . . . and knowing they are from him. I love this man to pieces and back again. He may not be perfect and I may not be perfect, but we are perfect for each other.
Feeling like I could die tomorrow and be able to say I had a very good life. Not that I want to die tomorrow, coz I don't . . . but knowing that I have had a life which has been richly blessed with an abundance of the things that really matter. That feeling is priceless.
Puppy belly snuffles.
Hot soup on cold days.
Smiles in unexpected places.
Life is good. Just knowing that. That is a small and wonderful thing. I am blessed.
Cooking in The English Kitchen today . . . Tomato and Bean Soup. Easy Peasy.
