Again too late.  I guess I have just never been overly concerned about things like this. Perhaps I should have been.

Cindy and I had a great day together yesterday.  We loaded up the car and headed off to Value Village. It is about 45 minutes or so away from us, maybe even an hour. I had a whole big bag of things to get rid of.  I had a couple of newish blanket. They were slippery. I don't like slippery.  I also had a bedspread and shams, made from that microfiber stuff, which I also do not like.  I had thought it was cotton.

After dropping off all the stuff, Cindy went in and got Dad some books to read.  He is a funny man. He likes to read romance novels.  He doesn't like to read anything else. I have bought him good books, real writing, in the past. He doesn't like or appreciate them. He prefers the trashy novel.

Then we went to the pet store to pick up some Churo treats for the cats.  Michaels. I got some pipe cleaners and some beads but we had a good boo around.  They are bringing in self checkouts there. I hate self checkouts.  I think they will all be self checkouts for the most part soon. YUCK!

Then we went to the Running Man, which is a small Costco outlet.  I got a few bits there.  Bags of unsalted mixed nuts to make my granola. Some jam. I like the Asian frozen Noodles with vegetables and frozen fried Rice. 

We finished off at Jonny's for fish and chips.  Naughty but very nice.  Then we went and put gas in the car, I picked up a prescription and home again, home again, jiggity jig.  Day gone.  But we had so much fun together.  We always send our brother photos of our dinner when we go to Jonny's to make him drool. 

He and his wife just celebrated their 37th Wedding Anniversary.  I remember going to Ottawa for their wedding.  We all flew up from Nova Scotia (mom, dad, myself) and my sister flew up from Windsor. It was such a beautiful wedding.  Love them both very much and wish them many, many more years of happily wedded bliss!

In The English Kitchen today  . . .  Crazy Gingerbread Cake, with a Lemon Sauce.  Egg, milk and butter free.  Moist and delicious. You can also use a one for one gluten free flour to make it gluten free.
