My Friday Finds . . .

A few of the things I find each week that inspire me to want to do better, to create, to become better, to read more, to watch, to just DO something! Things that delight, inspire, and bring me joy.  Maybe they will do the same thing for you!

Oh my word, from Averie Cooks . . .  a Coconut Cream Pie Smoothie.  Creamy, smooth and tasting like one of my favorite pies.   Will life ever be the same???   Oh, and she also has a recipe for Cinnamon Raisin Bread Smoothies.  Be still my heart!

Something fun to do with the children and grandchildren this summer.  Water Gun Painting.  Who knows what masterpieces you could create!  I am betting the kids would really enjoy this.  I found it on Somewhat Simple.

Things every son needs to hear. This is an excellent article I found on We are THAT Family.  How did regular people get to be so smart?  Seriously good advice in this article . . .  for the boys in your life.  And the girls too.  I think it's advice anyone could use and apply to their own lives.

Page by page instructions for every lego set since 1965.  On BrickInstructions.com.   It's amazing what you can find online these days!  I don't know how we could ever cope without it. Oh, I know, in reality our lives would just go on, but boy . . . I would sure miss it.  Anything I want to find something out, and I mean anything . . . I google it!  Yes.  I am one of THOSE people!

Love this Yo Yo Bed Warmer from Annies e-Patterns.   I can't imagine that it would keep anything very warm, but it sure is pretty to look at.  It would make a better dresser scarf in my opinion!

This couch caddy from Vintage with Laces is so beautiful.   Something like this is really handy to have if you like to do needlework while you are watching the telly at night.   It helps to keep everything all in once place!

A Portable Craft Station in a suitcase.  The Source for this great idea is here.   This one is obviously set up for quilting, but you could set up any kind you wanted.   A stamping one.   Card making one.   Scrap Booking one.  This would be perfect to take along on Cropping Sessions!  Just pick up and go!

A Pom Pom Apple.  This would be a great gift for a teacher for the end of the year.  I think it's just brilliant.  It comes from a book, which you can find here.   It's in a foreign language, (I think its Danish) but I am sure it wouldn't be too difficult to figure it out, even without the book.

A pictorial tutorial on making a cute little pompom bunny, just in time for Easter!  I may make these!  You can find the tutorial on Useful DIY.
Soooooo cute!!

Fabric Boxes from Seaside Stitches.   These are fabulous!  I can see lots of uses for them!   She has a complete tutorial.

Make your own Luggage Tags.  These are so pretty and they seem pretty easy to do.  There a complete tutorial, including the pattern on  Craftsy.

How to make your own Stickers, using stuff you probably already have in the house.  Find out how on Skip to my Lou.   Brilliant!

Egg Carton Roses!  Aren't they wonderful!  You could paint them whatever colour you wanted to.  They would make great table decorations for tea parties, showers, etc.    From Bliss Bloom Blog. People are just so crazy inventive, don't you think?

I know it's more paper flowers, but it was just so dang pretty I just had to share.  From Pretty DIY, a breathtakingly beautiful Paper Rose Garland.    I thought you might like this!

I just adore these little crochet cherries I found on Craft Gawker. If you have never looked at Craft Gawker, you should.  It's like Food Gawker, except it's crafts.

I found this little guy on Spud and Chloe.  Isn't he cute??   I think he is adorable, as far as frogs go!  There is a tennis ball inside.   I love it!

Is this not a beautiful example of French Knot Embroidery.  I think it is just gorgeous.   I found this on  One Crafty Mama.   I love to sit and embroider in an evening.

Are you like me?  Do you struggle when it comes to folding sheets, well the fitted ones at any rate.  I found this fab tutorial on The Complete Guide to Imperfect Homemaking.  It's really good!

Polka Dot lined envelopes from  Ruffled Blog.   So cute and so easy too!  I love cute and easy, don't you?

A free printable for DIY Mini Envelopes from The Creative Place.  You can never have too many envelopes.  I love envelopes and I love them in all kinds of shapes and sizes.  They come in very handy from time to time!  I've never met an envelope I haven't fallen in love with!

I just love this lacy looking bunting.   Found on Hola Mama.   You make it with those cheap doilies you can buy in the dollar store. Just cut in half and sew onto bias tape.  I think it's so very pretty!

Loving this too . . . it's made from a potholder and contains what you need for an emergency.

Its such a simple idea and I can see many uses for it.  The inside compartments are simply made by sewing in a couple of zip locks!  How ingenious!  From Tidy Mom

And those are my finds for this week. I hope there was something of interest for you here today as well!

A thought to carry with you   . . .

In The English Kitchen today  . . .  Herbed Cod with Crispy Garlic Potatoes. Simply delicious!

Who knows what today will bring to the table.  It looks very wet out there at the moment and the temperature has dropped by 1 degree just since I started writing this.  Brrr.  In any case, I hope you have a wonderful day and that you are blessed in the living of it.  Don't forget!

  2. You find the neatest things, will share the lego site with grandson who is a lego fanatic. Weather warnings for tomorrow snow/ice rain/rain combinations. Winter just keeps on coming. Yet I found a big patch of daffodils poking through the ground when some of the snow melted yesterday. Enjoy Friday.
